Saturday Soul Candy

Here are a few photos of the Bag Lady's flowerbed: (click on any of the pictures to enlarge, in order to see the weeds, too!)

The chives are in full bloom:

Here is a bearded iris bud:

The peonies are starting to bloom:

And here is the very first ripe strawberry of the season!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Sagan - and, so far, that's all there is - one strawberry!! :)
There will be more soon, though.

So that's what chives look like! I didn't know they made such pretty flowers!

Fresh chives are wonderful! So fragrant and delicious in meals! And I love that perfect, little strawberry too. Wonderful garden!

BG - and they spread like wildfire, too. I had one little plant when I started, and now they are everywhere!

dfLeah - thanks - I like them, too. But I need to cut them off before they go to seed....again!

Susan - I love using fresh chives in potato salad, among other things. And I'm hoping for a few more strawberries to ripen soon. I'm looking forward to eating strawberry shortcake, or strawberry pie, etc.

I hear you about the chives growing out of control. I've covered over part of my garden with grass and they still grow through. But the flowers ARE nice and the chives, especially their first couple of weeks are so tasty.

I have lots of catching up to do!

Hilary! You're back! Hope you had a nice time at the cottage.
Yes, chives are pretty resilient!

Just a quick hello while the grandkids are quiet. They are having a ball. Grandma is getting tired (just a few more days to go) and your soul candy did the trick. I am feeling revived.

I LOVE PEONIES!!!!

And I never knew that chives were so pretty. I only ever see the dehydrated, freeze-dried version stuffed inside a plastic shaker at the grocery store, though.

EWBL - I love peonies, too! Except for the ants they attract....
Chives are lovely when they bloom, and really easy to grow. I could send you some seeds!
