And Another Thing.....

The Bag Lady took these photos just a few minutes ago to show you how her yard looked this morning....
The sun finally makes an appearance (haven't seen it since Monday!)

It's rather misty:

And very close to freezing:

It looks beautifully damp. Here, the grass crackles when you walk on it, and where the hay was cut in June it has grown no more than six inches. (Some years this area gets three hay crops. Not this time!)

Love the mist pics. Well done.
I'll send good thoughts about the tomatoes.

So purty...
Hope your veggies all pull through.
Especially the peppers...

Baggie, that's just beautiful. I love misty, foggy days, but that's just too cold for summer. Wishing you some warmth and a continued bumper crop of veggies.

Mary Anne - our grass was crackling last week, too. But it's amazing what a couple inches of rain will do! And we only ever get one cut of hay...some folks have tried to take two, but then it doesn't get a chance to recover before the snow flies.

dfLeah - thanks - your good thoughts must have helped - the tomatoes seem okay.

Geo - Thanks! The peppers are on the deck under cover, thank heavens!

Thanks, Hilary! It was a bit of a shock after such warmth just a few days ago!

Miz - thanks! We were almost in your temperature range on Monday - amazing the difference.

Reb - Thanks, sis!

Annette - it's warmed up again and is supposed to be nice for the weekend! But not 94!

Hi Bag Lady!

Wow tha first picture especially looks ghostly! I love it! So strange that the weather flipped out on you - your poor tomatoes! Still, surely the rain was much needed? But the cold... all the plants will be so confused!

The novella is brilliant! I definitely want another turn!

Beautiful photos! But yes, I'll also send warm thoughts to your veggies. Such strange weather you're having!

Susan - thanks!

TA - you're back! I missed you.
The tomatoes made it through, thank heavens! The weather has smartened up and is closer to normal, now. It is supposed to be nice today, which is a good thing, as I'm cooking for a family gathering, and we like to sit around the firepit.

Crabby - the whole year has been strange as far as the weather goes. This was the hottest August I can remember.
At least the salsa might/could get made, barring any more cold mornings!

df Bag Lady,

Love the pics, I am in Florida and it has been raining since I got here last week, however it is always 90 degrees or more. Don't know what that means in Celsius but it's pretty darn hot on top of pretty darn wet.

dfTerrie - that sounds like the kind of weather that leaves you breathless, and feeling rather like a dishrag!
It's slightly overcast here and is a temperate 75. Perfect.
