Honeysuckle Clematis

Here is what the Bag Lady's clematis vine looks like today:

Half in bloom, half starting to go to seed. The Bag Lady really needs to do some serious pruning!

The Bag Lady was also quite excited to see these:

The very first raspberries from the raspberry plants she added to the garden this year.
She was a little surprised to see them because she thought the plants wouldn't produce until next year.
Seeing them also means she will have to take a little pail and go for a stroll in the bush... wild raspberries are so-o-o good!

How 'bout that clematis.
Mmmm raspberries. I used to eat them straight off the bush.
We've got some growing behind the shed that might do well this year.

They do look delicious. The raspberries, I mean.

I miss the raspberry bushes from home. Or rather, I miss eating the raspberries from the bushes. I don't actually enjoy picking the raspberries because you pretty much have to get right in the bushes (as much as I enjoy gardening, I do have a horror of bugs). My Dad enjoys picking them though, so that works out well when I'm actually there to enjoy the bounty!

dfLeah - yeah, I love raspberries straight off the bush, too. In fact, those three in the photo went directly into my mouth!

Thanks, sis - it does look pretty cool when it has gone to seed.

messymimi - they were!

JavaChick - I actually have a fear of bugs, too. After I pick raspberries, it takes me forever to clean them before I can use them!

I had raspberries for awhile. Then eric covered them with a board. so I replanted. I am waiting. will have a long wait. not wild though except that they grow in a forest. Lots of competition from blackberries and deer too.

Janell, why would Eric cover them with a board? Does he not like raspberries?

That clematis is amazing. I've never seen yellow blossoms! Love it. I am very jealous of your raspberries, too. Yummers!
