(No, the title does not refer to anyone's underwear....)
The Rancher has been building a catch-pen at the new pasture, and the Bag Lady gave him a hand with the bracing. And, in a totally unrelated picture, here is some of the broccoli she harvested from her garden over the weekend.
She and the Rancher went out on Saturday night. They went to town for supper, then stopped at the dance held at the community hall after the annual fair.
And apparently a tornado touched down somewhere close to their home last night during a thunderstorm.
So, how's that for brief news? (and not a word about underwear! Told ya.)

The bracing looks like tough work.
Your broccoli looks good.
Glad you had a night out and doubly glad the tornado was elsewhere.
Glad the tornado was brief!!!
Yay, broccoli! I have about half that much waiting for me.
If barbed wire is involved, underwear could indeed be at risk.

Mmm...broccoli!
News on your channel is never boring. Tornadoes!?!
Enjoy that lovely broccoli!
I am so jealous of your broccoli! But not at all of your tornado. Egads.
Bracing looks good, broccoli looks good, tornadoes...not so good. Glad it was not AT your place.
Do you get tornados there often? I remember having them almost every year as a kid. Now down here in Louisiana, we only have to worry about hurricanes!
I'm jealous of your garden. One day I shall have one of my own!
I'm glad, too, cousin, that the tornado was not closer!
Mary Anne in Kentucky - fortunately, no underwear was harmed in the making of that fence.
BG - yesssss!
messymimi - thanks! tornadoes are very rare here, thankfully!
Charlotte - home-grown broccoli is SO good!
Reb - the tornado was, apparently, quite close by, but we didn't even know it until it was over.
Gena - if you had asked me that question a few years ago, I would have said never! But we have had a couple tornadoes in the last few years. Fortunately, they are very rare.
How did you know I was thinking underwear?
Barbed wire: not fun
broccoli: looks fabulous
dancing: I'm envious
tornado: too close for comfort!
Broccoli sounds good about now. I have only had some soup since surgery (and it was yum!).
I love broccoli.
Nothing was damaged by the tornado, then, I hope?
Dancing is so much fun. The boyfriend and I are going to try taking dance lessons at a place around the corner - they have ballroom and Latin dance and all sorts! There's not enough opportunities for dancing in the world.
Okay, I'll bite...what's a catch pen and why does it need bracing?
That's beautiful broccoli...love broccoli
Your night out sounds like fun. It reminds me of a scene from Murphy's Romance (a favorite movie, I must admit) when they went dancing and played bingo. You probably think I'm goofy.
All in all, I'd say these were very interesting news briefs...thanks!
Catch-pen...what are you catching? Gorgeous broccoli.
kcinnova - true. All of it.
Janell - homegrown broccoli can't be beat! It's so good!
David - have you ever grown your own broccoli? It is so much better than what you buy in the stores!
Sagan - no, there was no damage, thank heavens! Dancing is great - good for you and the boyfriend for taking lessons! Sounds like fun.
Cheryl - a catch pen is where we gather our cows when we want to move them from one pasture to another. In this case, we need to load them into trailers, so we are in the process of building a corral inside the catch pen. The bracing is needed at the corners so the barbed wire doesn't pull the posts out of the ground.
Marianne - so far, the only thing we've caught in the catch pen is the neighbour's dog. Sigh.
:)
And even the Rancher agrees the broccoli is excellent (he does not like broccoli at all!)
Wow that broccoli looks terrific. I'm glad you were spared damage from the tornado. We had a very "brief" windstorm at the cottage, which Frank's sisters referred to as a micro burst. We watched and listened as a tree cracked and came down about toward the cottage. About one inch of the tip brushed against the window. We were very lucky.
Hilary - very lucky, indeed! That's one of the things that scares me about storms! Glad you are okay!
