Calves and Cream

The Bag Lady has been having a fairly busy time. Calving season has started at the ranch, and it's tax season, too!

She zipped to Edmonton on the weekend to attend a birthday party for her uncle. He turned 90 on St Patrick's Day. It was a lovely party, and she enjoyed seeing some of her cousins and relatives that she hadn't seen for ages.

The ranch is still deep in the grasp of winter, regardless of whether the calendar says it's spring. In fact, it snowed again on the weekend (which made her drive home verrrrrrry interesting) and dumped another 6 inches or so on the ranch. She finally broke down and used the snow for something good.....

Irish Cream Snow Cone! Tasted like ice cream. Fresh snow with Irish Cream Whiskey drowning it drizzled over it. Very tasty.

Here is the newest addition to the ranch....

He was quite boisterous and didn't want to stand still to have his picture taken, so out of the 4 pictures the Bag Lady took, this was the best.
Oh, except for when he was trying to decide if the Bag Lady was friend or foe, and stopped long enough to peek through the boards of the stall.....

The Bag Lady is off and running for another busy week. What's happening with you?

Is it too early in the day for one of those treats?

Cute calf! I think he needs a name... Bailey? (You know, for Irish Cream Whiskey!)

Mmmm...that snow cone looks very good. J got a snoopy snow cone maker as a gag gift at christmas and we've been thinking about making "adult" snow cones. I'll add that one to our list :)

I agree about calling the calf Bailey :) He's a cute one.

kcinnova - Bailey is a great name! He was born close enough to St. Paddy's Day to warrant an Irish name. :)

Geo - "adult" snow cones are delicious, trust me!

Oh, now I want an adult snow cone! The calf is adorable, I think Bailey is a good name ;)

You have calves, we have kittens. It's just that time of year.

Hope none of yours need bottle feeding this year.

Drowning in it. hahaha

Taxes should not be brought up in the same post as a post with Irish Cream.
Happy calving!

Awww you shouldn't make me fall in love with these little critters. I know where they're headed eventually. I'll just have to drown (or should I say drizzle) my sorrows in a snow cone - Baggie-style. Looks yummy! That last pic is really adorable.

Clever KC.. Bailey is a perfect name.

If your ears were burning a couple of days ago, Bag Lady, it's because Sara P and I talked about you again. Don't know why we find you more fascinating than everybody else on that blog?
Cute calves?
Sara told the rest of the signing queue about you, too...

Reb - the snow cone was yummy!

Messymimi - I hope none of our calves need bottles, and that all your kittens find loving homes!

Janell - thanks! I hope spring decides to arrive soon - it's easier on the calves!

Hilary - sorry.... have a snow cone - they're delicious!

JavaChick - I'm so glad that picture turned out well - he looked so cute!

Bookwitch - the next best thing to actually being there is to at least be a topic of discussion! :)

Mary Anne in Kentucky - he does have an adorable nose, doesn't he?

Cheryl - absolutely! We had tons of fresh snow (again!) so I just packed it into a glass, turned it over into a dish and poured Irish Cream over it. YUM!
