Several of you did guess that it was a bear, and it was. The Bag Lady did a random draw and Marianne was the lucky winner of ...... something! Watch your mailbox, Marianne, for something wonderful and exciting..... sometime soon!
It was probably only about a year old, and came across the highway in front of the Bag Lady. It stood up on it's hind legs and looked around, stopping a couple of times, before it crossed over to the other side of the road and took off into the bush. The Bag Lady was forced to stop quite quickly, and couldn't reach her camera in time to take a picture while the bear was directly in front of her vehicle. Sigh. By the time she got the camera in hand and turned on, and waited for it to power up, the bear was almost out of sight.
Congratulations Marianne! Yay!
And good for you, Bag Lady, for getting the pic.
Thanks, cousin. It was one of those "point camera in general direction and hope for the best" pictures.
Hooray for Marianne!
Now that such nice, small cameras have been invented, it's time to make one that powers up quickly!
kcinnova - true! I love the digital cameras, but mine takes soooo long to power up. Sigh
Damn, I was soooo sure it was a wolf!
Way to go, Marianne!
Well, I looked at the picture before I read this post and I thought it was a bear, too. I really did. Anyway, congratulations to Marianne!!
Truth be told, I most often use the "point camera in general direction and hope for the best" technique. It does take talent.
