Baby, It's Cold Outside!

The Bag Lady wanted to share this with you:

Unfortunately, it's hard to take a picture through the window, but there was NO WAY she was going outside in her housecoat to snap this! So it is a little blurry, but you can still read it, can't you? (Kind of her to add the numbers, wasn't it? For clarity's sake.)

Technically, it is reading -49, but what's a degree or two between frost-bite, right?

So glad I was sitting beside a nice warm fire when that picture loaded.

Wow, that's amazing!

I thought it was cold HERE yesterday, but I guess not. (We got all the way "down" to the mid-50s, F. Pack your shorts and come visit!!)

Hilary - it's raining where you are, isn't it?

Mary Anne in Kentucky - I've been spending a lot of time beside my nice warm fire, too!

Marste - be careful what you offer!! You might end up with half of Canada on your doorstep, shorts in hand! (eeuuww, that sounded kinda nasty, didn't it?) :)

Wow! Make sure to wrap up well when you go out to feed the cows! Or, I suppose at this late hour, I should be saying I hope you did wrap up well ;)

Yikes. That's it. That's all I've got. Yikes.

Well, Baggie, we never did get snow down here, but it's raining today and I had to put on long sleeves. You'd just better come down here with me until that cold snap passes. When will that be--July?

Now I'm sitting beside the same fire, with the same outdoor temperature, watching snowflakes. Weather. [shakes head]

Again, my hat is off to you.

You don't say so, but I know that at some point, probably when it is not much warmer than in the picture, you did have to get bundled up and go out there to do farm chores.

Every bite we eat, we should thank God and farm people.

It's a good thing you didn't take the camera outside!

I just shivered, and it's only hovering at the freezing point here.

I know I jest but that is TRULY SHOCKING TO ME, BL.

I bundle at 40 above.

and did when I lived "more north" too!

That's nasty! We actually had a warm-ish day yesterday.

Reb - luckily, the Rancher was home and did the chores!

dfLeah - that's what I said, too. Really.
:)

Amy - I would be on the next plane, if I could afford the airfare!

Mary Anne in Kentucky - at least you are still sitting by the fire!

Messymimi - thanks! Put your hat back on, though - it's too cold here to go hat-less! :)

kcinnova - I just shivered, too. Again.

Carla - you would really have to bundle in this weather!

JavaChick - it's supposed to warm up here by Thursday. I sure hope they're right!

Yowza. We've got that here too.
I got looks of awe when I popped in to the Tim HOrtons on my way to the bus to grab a coffee, all covered in frost and bundles up like amarshmallow.
We wanted to go out on the weekend but the whole not plugging the car in and ending up with a too car frozen to go anywhere that day made for us just staying inside. It was much nicer there, all warm and toasty, sewing stuff and drinking coffee.
Much warmer.

Wow..that made no sense at all. I think I'll go drink that coffee I bought before I try posting anythign else...hope today is warmer :)

Geo - the scary part? I understood perfectly what you meant! :)
It is warmer here this morning - only minus 40, with a windchill factor of -53.
Yeah, warmer.

BRRRR.

We've got -40 or -45 with windchill today. I wouldn't know the exact number. I'm totally staying indoors today. Thank goodness I have so much housework to do (it gets bad when you don't remember the last time you dusted... or vacuumed... eek) and can use that as an excuse for not going outside :D

Holy cow.

Holy FROZEN cow.

Hope you and hubby (and the critters) are all warm and safe! I'd be afraid to leave the house for fear of being frozen solid into a crabsicle!

brrrr.....I actually cannot imagine how that feels!
You are way tougher then I am!

Sagan - the warm air is on it's way. Really. It's supposed to reach here by Thursday. Hope it gets to you, soon, too!

Crabby - that cracked me up! (crabsicle - too funny).

Missicat - to be honest, if you're out when it's this cold for longer than a couple of minutes, you can't feel much of anything!
