Weekend Report

The Bag Lady had a fairly busy weekend. She and the Rancher went to town on Friday to run errands and do some shopping.

She got the photograph enlarged - the one of the sunrise taken last month - so she can enter it into a competition! She also bought a frame for it, but when she got it all home and put it together, she decided that the frame wasn't suitable. So she painted the frame. But she still isn't sure it looks right. She may have to go shopping again - she still has a couple of days before the entry deadline!

On Saturday, she and the Rancher went out for an evening of dining and dancing! They attended a fundraiser with several other couples and had a lovely time. Champagne reception, entertainment, dinner and dancing. It was a lot of fun. The Bag Lady's only complaint was that the music was too loud - does that mean she's getting old?

Yesterday was a beautiful day in her neighbourhood. The sun was shining and the temperature was above freezing! It almost felt like spring.

How was your weekend?

Sounds like a lovely weekend! I was extremely lazy and barely left the house, but the weather was beautiful here in Saint John. Of course, today it is pouring down rain and is dark & dreary, but I guess you have to expect a bit of that in the spring.

What a fun weekend! good luck in the competition! I bet your frame looks lovely:) Besides, the pic is gorgeous so I'm thinking the frame won't matter much.

An evening out is good for the soul.
I'm sure everything will sort out with the photo.

JavaChick - It was a nice weekend. Today is shaping up to be nice and sunny again, so hopefully more snow will melt!

Charlotte - thanks! When I went to pick up the photo, there was a fellow behind me - as soon as I pulled the picture out of the envelope, he exclaimed "Wow, that's gorgeous!" I'm thinking it doesn't need a frame at all!! :)

dfLeah - our evening out WAS good for the soul! We saw some people, had some laughs and generally enjoyed ourselves. But I'm not accustomed to staying up late, so was dragging my tail a little yesterday! :)

df Bag Lady,

Great luck with the photo competition!

Sounds like you had a great weekend.

You are not getting old. The music was too loud.

That sounds like a great weekend.
I don't think the loud music means anything...I bet it was just a crummy sound system.

I'm excited to hear how the photo competition goes :)

Fun weekend! Good luck...sending positivity your way! :)

dfTerrie - thanks! I knew it was too loud - there's no way it could have anything to do with my age!

Geo - a lot of it might have been the acoustics in the building, too, perhaps.

Mark - thanks!

Wow, sounds like you had quite the weekend! I am sure you will find just the right frame and will win the competition. Felt like spring here too.

What a fun weekend. So, glad you're feeling better, and getting out and about.

Reb - it was a good weekend. And thanks for the vote of confidence about the photo and the competition!

Maggie - thanks! Now, it the snow would melt, it would really make me smile....

If you were really getting old, the music wouldn't be too loud because you'd be too deaf to hear it well. Right?

Yesterday was lovely. Still raining (a total of two and a half inches in seven days) and just cold enough to make sitting by the fire all day blissful without being cold enough to make a walk unbearable. I read, I toasted myself by the living room stove, I made rolls, I enjoyed myself.

Mary Anne in Kentucky - you have a point there! I must not be all that old yet, because I could still hear the music. And it was too damned loud! :)

Sounds like you had a great day! There is nothing like sitting beside the fire on a cool, rainy day.

Lucky you, to have a man who'll go dancing with you! Good luck with your photo! I'm sure the frame looks just fine.

Sounds like you had a great time - good to hear! Glad it's getting warmer.
The sun is out here today, but it is VERY windy....my poor hair is quite mussed.

Champagne and dancing! Now that sounds like a wonderful evening!

I'm 31 and constantly find myself complaining that restaurants are too loud. Which is something I would have rolled my eyes at hearing my mother say five years ago.

BG - oh yes, the Rancher is a good dancer. It seems to take a lot more convincing to get him to actually GO dancing than it used to, though.

Missicat - sounds like our wind finally made it to your side of the country!

Tricia - it was a good time! Thanks - there are a lot of talented photographers around here - I can use all the luck I can get!

SB - Oh good - it's not age, then! And I always swore I wasn't going to say a lot of the things that my mother used to say..... hahahahahaha -- she was right about so many things!

Good luck on the photo competition! You really do have a fabulous entry. And the music is ALWAYS too loud at those events, even for me...

I started my weekend early with cheering on some friends at an open mic night on Thursday, movie & dinner with a friend on Friday, and scrapbooking and then book club on Saturday. I took a nap on Sunday AND this morning! I'm not sure why it never rains but it pours when it comes to a full calendar.

That sunrise picture rocks!!! I hope you win.

The reason music is played so loud is that everybody else is already a little bit deaf from listening to loud music.

the Bag Lady said...

kcinnova - wow - sounds like you had an action-packed weekend! I'd be exhausted...

Melissa - especially the sound technicians!! :)
And thanks! I hope the picture at least garners an honourable mention!

Good luck with the photo, Baggie. I have no doubt you'll win that competition.

I can't remember what I did this weekend .. does that mean I'm getting old? ;)

the Bag Lady said...

Hilary - thanks for the vote of confidence!!
I'm not at all sure that not being able to remember what you did this weekend has anything to do with getting older - were you with Frank? Maybe he remembers...... :)

dining and dancing? your weekend DID trump mine in a big bag way (unless by dining you mean snacking on the couch and dancing you meant watching basketball on tv? then ours were the same!!)

Sagan said...

Dining and dancing, so much fun! I love dancing. Good luck with the photograph competition :)

the Bag Lady said...

Miz - there's nothing wrong with snacking on the couch, watching TV! That just didn't happen here this weekend! :)

Sagan - it was a really good time! And thanks for the good wishes.
