Spring?!

They say if you don't like the weather in Alberta, wait 15 minutes! Well, it's probably going to take more than 15 minutes for this storm to blow itself out, but the difference between yesterday and today is ridiculous!

Yesterday was a fairly nice spring day - the temperature was warm enough to melt the snow and the Bag Lady was wandering around in the pasture, thinking that the cows would have to be moved to a drier location!

There has been at least 6 inches of snow fall overnight, and it's still snowing, but the worst is the wind. It's blowing so hard that when the Bag Lady walked down to the pasture to check the cows, her tracks were gone by the time she walked back to the house 15 minutes later!

Here's a picture of how much it has drifted around the bales in the hay yard. The Bag Lady couldn't take a picture out in the pasture because there wasn't enough definition - everything was white!

Hopefully this will be the last of this year's bad storms!

That's crazy. It reminds me of the weather in Ithaca (and my toes got cold just looking at that picture).

I hope that is it for you this year! It has actually been a chilly March for D.C. No snow of course, but down in the 30s at night (yes, I know I shouldn't complain!)

Oh, yuck! I really hope that is the last of it. Enough is enough already.

Tricia - It was a nasty little storm! I was bundled up, but my nose got cold!

Hilary - I feel the same way. Done. I am SO over winter...

dfLeah - it has mostly stopped snowing, but the wind is still blowing. Sigh.

Missicat - sounds like your night-time temperatures are the same as our day-time highs!

Reb - You are so right - I've definitely had enough!

If my iPhone is to be believed, we will FINALLY have some springish weather come Friday. It's been miserable. Ugh.

Melissa - wonder when your iPhone says it'll be spring here!!?

Actually, it is supposed to be warmer here tomorrow. But cold tonight. Sigh.

We got rain all day, varying between gentle and blowing sideways. It was warm, though, although not as warm as yesterday which was [whispering] sunny and 72F.

What a storm! Hopefully you don't have to worry about those kind of winds and storms too much longer! Bring on the spring weather!

the Bag Lady said...

Sagan - isn't there a flood danger where you are? At least that's something we don't have to worry about!

Redbush - I'm with you - bring on spring! :)

You really know the meaning of a long winter BagLady. Here's hoping that spring returns soon.

Tom - we've had spring delay its' arrival until the end of April on occasion! Hope this isn't going to be one of those years!

Geo - I hope it didn't make it to your house, either!
I also hope you didn't get the really cold weather we had last night..... sigh.

POD - It's really sunny here now, too. Blindingly so, shining off all that fresh snow!
Our temp. is now right around the freezing mark. Hope it hits the melting mark soon!
