Is it Wednesday Already?

There are days when the Bag Lady just doesn't feel like she's gotten anything done. Yesterday was one of those days. Of course, that doesn't mean she didn't DO anything, just that she was out-of-sorts and didn't accomplish as much as she would have liked. Does that happen to anyone else?

She went to town and did some banking and some shopping and ran some errands, but she tried to get through it all as quickly as possible so she could come home again. Where she spent the remainder of the day wandering from task to task, starting things but not finishing much of anything. She was busy, and moving around a lot, but seemed to be suffering from ARADD (Age-Related Attention Deficit Disorder). She started to water her plants, but as she was walking past the outdoor table, she noticed an empty mug that needed to be taken to the kitchen, so she picked that up and wandered back inside, then stood there for awhile, wondering what she had come inside for! The Princess was dancing around like a lunatic, so the Bag Lady took her for a walk out to the pasture.

She decided that she would make potpie for supper with the left-over roast beef from the night before, but before she did that, she thought perhaps she should make shortcake biscuits for the strawberries that she picked the day before. She at least managed to keep her attention on that long enough to get them done, but by then it was too late to make the potpies, so, since the oven was already on, she found some frozen fish fillets and cooked them. Then of course, she had to peel potatoes for french fries, (don't say it, she doesn't cook them very often!) then she ran outside and picked a few more strawberries that had ripened, and before she knew it, the Cowboy was pulling in the driveway and the day was almost done. The plants didn't get watered until after supper, the empty cup is still sitting just inside the door, the Cowboy was too full to eat dessert, and the Bag Lady can't understand why she's so tired when she didn't manage to finish anything!

The Princess loves to play a crazy little game she made up, and the Bag Lady tried to capture it on video today. She was too busy playing with the dog to think to video-tape it from the start, so it's a little short. The Princess will do this all the way across the pasture...

And now the Bag Lady must head into town because it's haying time. Which means she has to go fer parts....

and I SO HAVE ARADD.
who knew there was a name!

is there a cure? a telethon?

HELP BL!

Yes, we definitely need a telethon!

I could say "I have days like that," but that would be such an understatement--I have a LIFE like that.

And no wonder Princess won't chase the cows--she's clearly a natural chasee, not a chaser. It's quite adorable.

Dogs are so good at amusing themselves. An excellent trait.

Yes, I have AARD days, too. I sometimes wonder how what little I get done in a day gets done.
Totally support the telethon idea. I'll be along to help out just as soon as I take care of a few things here...

I like the idea of a telethon! If they can't find a cure, perhaps they can use us in some kind of study...of course, it would have to be held in some exotic locale, under the strictest of....umbrellas, with those big drinks with their own little umbrellas...

Princess is so funny! She's herding you, but you keep getting away! (No, she would not like having a BC around--she'd always be the cow, then.)

Mary Anne in Kentucky

Mary Anne: she would hate being the cow all the time (she's very bossy)! So no BC around here.

Cute pup! I think Bad Cat got more done yesterday then I did....
French fries? from REAL taters? YUM!!

the Bag Lady said...

Missicat - Thanks, she is a cutie, isn't she?
Oh yeah, no frozen french fries around here! (That would make it too easy to make them more often!!)

I am the same way. I get distracted easily, end up trying to do too many things at once, then end up wondering where the day went and why I got nothing accomplished.

the Bag Lady said...

Javachick - so glad to hear I'm not alone! Now I need to get off my butt and try to get something accomplished today (for a change!) :)

Well, I spent yesterday waiting for people and buses - at least that is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

I'm all for a telethon and the study under the big umbrella.

I'm like Crabby- just about every day I'm wishing I could've done a million more things.

And now I'm all hungry for homemade french fries and shortcake biscuits!

the Bag Lady said...

Reb - that's a perfectly reasonable excuse. :)

Sagan - if you come for a visit, I promise to make home-made french fries and shortcake biscuits (but healthy ones, honest!!) :)

You mean the memory things gets worse as I get older?

Oh no...I'm the queen of going to a room and forgetting why I went there already!

the Bag Lady said...

Geosomin - hate to be the one to break it to you, but yeah, it definitely doesn't get better... sigh.

Such a pretty dog. I had dogs once. :-(

Now cats have taken over - but I can live vicariously through your princess.

the Bag Lady said...

Izzy Beth - for many years we had two dogs and one cat. Now we have two cats and one dog. But somehow, the dog still rules...ALL of us!!)

df Bag Lady,

I am sooooo ready to participate in the telethon. I wander from room to room never knowing why I am where I am. ALL THE TIME.

The other day I was going to the doctor but was leaving from my son's house not my own. (We're only three miles apart, but it makes the route slightly different.) So I drove along until I got to the supermarket and made an automatic left turn, was half way through the turn when I realized this wasn't where I was supposed to be going, but I had to continue and drive around the parking lot until I could get out again. Went another mile and then turned into a shopping center I frequent--same as the supermarket only it all started with a right turn. I finally did get to the doctor, and it was the correct doctor, something of a miracle since I had three medical appointments last week, one each day-Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Could someone please order my drink with the cute little umbrella now?

Terrie

You're dog is goofy!

You don't know it, but your videos are helping me convince the hubby that we need a video camera...keep up the posting and I'll have clips of my own before long : )

the Bag Lady said...

dfTerrie - oh, I can so relate!! It's a wonder either of us ever gets where we are going. Do you want the pink umbrella or the green? :)
Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday!!! Speaking of forgetfulness - I forgot yesterday!

Emily - I'll try to post some more videos, but the quality of most of them is so bad - the operator's fault, mind you, not the camera.....
:)

df Bag Lady,

Green would be lovely, thank you.

And thanks for the birthday wishes!

You have no freakin idea!

I threw my paper route every single stinkin morning for 6 years and just quit last Tuesday. 6 years...and yet I would still find myself in the middle of the route thinking "Where am I? How did I get here? I don't recognize this treet at all."

So pathetic and sad.

the Bag Lady said...

EWBL - and you're so young! Gosh, that's sad....
I totally hear you.
You QUIT your job? Wha...?!

dfLeah - am I missing something?

Tokaiangel - bad brain days happen around here a lot! And seem to be getting more frequent. Sigh.

dfBag Lady - This is your Wednesday post again, right?
Or am I having weird computer troubles?
Or am I more confused than usual?

the Bag Lady said...

dfLeah - not sure what's going on, I'll see what I can do to fix it. Sheesh, I'm so computer-challenged....
