Monday Morning Blues

The Bag Lady has been having all kinds of trouble with her computer and may end up taking it to town (or out behind the barn, or on a long walk off a short pier, or something equally drastic...) so if she disappears from the blogging scene for awhile, please don't forget her....
If anyone has any suggestions to fix her 'puter, feel free.

Take it out to a field and shoot it, dfBag Lady. It's the humane thing. For both of you.

I don't have a free fix suggestion, but it might be that you'll have to flip down to XP from Vista.

That's another idea, alright, dfLeah.
Actually, I am using XP. I think it is a problem with my anti-virus program... it freezes my Word package while running a virus scan.

Wish I knew more about this stuff. Sigh.

Sorry, thought you had Vista.
Have you got Symantec? I've got ESET NOD 32 now and I'm very happy with it.

What happened to the bearded lady pic? That looked how I felt this a.m....
Put the computer in time out. Worked for me as a kid...

dfLeah - yes, I've got Symantec, which I think is what's wrong...but I'm not sure.

missicat - sorry about the bearded lady...the Bag Lady had second thoughts. So now you're one of the select few who got to see what the Bag Lady looked like. In disguise.

Time-out might be just the ticket. All the other things I've tried haven't worked.

I have problems with my anti virus too...I think they protect from virus' by not letting me get on the internet (without shutting down in 5 minutes.)

I like tieing bricks to the computer and taking it for a swim : )

Emily - too much ice here for the swimming. May have to take my computer ice-fishing and use it for bait!!

I could never forget you!

Thanks for posting the cookie recipe. :)

A good swift kick might do it. .. or another view of Bearded Bag Lady. ;)

Hope your computer woes are in the past very soon.

SB - thanks for saying that! And you're welcome for the cookie recipe. Did you try it?

Hilary - tell me you didn't see the bearded bag lady! (Or were you and missicat suffering from some strange delusion this morning?)

Well now you shouldn't go putting things up if you don't want people to see them...I was brave and posted a picture of myself after my hair cut...sorta...And yes, I saw your bearded lady pic. Very cute.

I can tell you that, Baggie, but I'd be lying. As soon as you hit "post" any number of feeds pick it up. I almost always mutter "oh chit" after I hit the post button. Inevitably I screw something up.

javachick - the Bag Lady saw your haircut picture and she knows you have green eyes. Well, unless the other one is blue...or brown...or, or...something.

The Bag Lady changed her mind about posting the bearded photo almost immediately (as soon as her coffee woke her completely!), and hoped no-one had actually looked at her blog in the 3.99 seconds it was posted!!

Sheesh.

For a small fee, I can "forget" about the pic....hehehe

Missicat! Are you trying to blackmail the Bag Lady!!?

df Bag Lady,

Ah, computer woes! I understand nothing and can only say: You poor thing.

dfTerrie - thank you! I understand nothing about computers, either, and it's annoying as hell! The weather has turned bad, too, so won't be going to town today...

I'm just disappointed I missed the pic! Sorry - no nothing useful about computers.

Hope you get up and running soon!

I've been offline too, taking care of some stuff, and have missed out on visiting all my favorite blogs. But at least my computer is working--how frustrating! Hope you can beat a little sense into it and make it behave.

Dawn - you didn't really miss much! It was a photo of a teenaged, bearded Bag Lady... she was in a drama club in junior high school, and there weren't enough boys in the club. The Bag Lady was elected to play a man because she had no boobs. Really. Well, okay, she had boobs, but nowhere near what the other girls had. Oops, was that too much information?

Crabby - looking forward to having you back full-time on the blogging scene. The Bag Lady still hasn't gotten her computer working properly, but is hesitant to take it to town because she knows it will take several days, and she's not sure she can live without her blog-buddies for that long!!

I'm the one with the blahs. I've had to give that talk to my computer, "No, no. You're perfect just the way you are. It's not you. It's me."
