She cannot think of anything to blog about. Part of that stems from the fact that nothing much is going on at the ranch right now. This is the lull before the storm, she fears. With the Rancher on night shift, she spends her days tiptoeing around the house while he's sleeping, and her evenings cursing the fact that she didn't get more done during the day, but is too tired to do much more than watch television in the evening! Worst of all, she isn't sure what has caused her tiredness - who knew that tiptoeing could wear you out!
She has a few posts in the planning stage, but somehow hasn't gotten much further than a few little nuggets of an idea lost in the vast empty space where her brain used to reside. She wonders if she can blame the loss of her brain on men
Maybe the clouds will disappear, the sun will shine again and light will stream
In the meantime, she will....... what's that? It's awfully shiny.....

It can be very exhausting trying to work around the house, yet make no noise because someone is asleep. It's kind of like having a baby in the house.
Everyone is entitled to have brain fog once in a while. We will be patient; something amusing or dangerous or fabulous will come up sooner or later.
Oh how I understand this feeling! Don't worry - you'll overcome your "blogger block" soon enough. In the meantime, go look at some lolcats. It won't help with the posting but I bet it will make you giggle. And that's what the Internet was invented for right??
Enjoy the fog. It's a time of rest. That's what I tell myself when it happens.
We all need our little vacations from thinking!
If you do find your brain, could ou check to see if it has run off with mine?
I second the lolcats - my favorite distraction!
Shiny things are great :)
Don't stress - we'll still love you if you take a day off here and there. It's february, the month of the blah. It will pass :)
Sharing the brain fog, here. In my case, getting enough sleep would help. If I knew how to sleep all night instead of waking up every hour or two, I would.

Messymimi - it IS exhausting to try to be quiet! I don't, as a rule, stomp around the house, roaring at the top of my lungs, but it seems as though every little noise I do make is amplified when I know he's sleeping. He claims that he wouldn't hear a bomb going off, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't disturb him if I dropped a knife onto the countertop.... :)
Charlotte - thanks for the suggestion! I could use a good giggle! Glad to know I'm not alone, even though I've never noticed any blogger block on your fabulous site!
dfLeah - Good point! I shall try to think of it in those terms, instead of worrying that my mind is slipping away...:)
Missicat - is your brain missing, too? Bet we find both of them parked over at lolcats...
Geo - thanks! Ten more days will bring us to March. The month of almost spring. Sometimes. Up here, it's more often the month of blizzards.
Mary Anne in Kentucky - I can relate to the sleep disturbances. Some nights I feel as though I've spent more time awake than asleep.
I think you have Cabin Fever!!!
Melissa - I think you are right!! Spring can't come too early for me...
Feeling the same way...I have some thoughts/ideas that I want to write about, but I don't seem to have the brainpower right now to turn the ideas into posts. I'm still blaming winter. Hoping my brain will wake up when spring rolls around. I am a delicate flower and I need the sun...(cue Husband rolling his eyes over that one...).
Javachick - how is that so many of us allegedly tough Canadians are such delicate flowers?! I, too, am ready for spring, and hoping that with the awakening of the world, my mind will return, refreshed from it's winter's slumber.
(And it better happen soon - I don't know how much more of that "pretty prose" we can all stand!!) :)
Sounds like winter blahs to me. We get them down here too, where the crepe myrtles are already blooming, so I can only imagine how tough it is up where you are!
It's the winter blues that's got you Bag Lady. A little sun and some warm will help.
It's that time of year, I think. My birthday is past and my anniversary is in the distant future, nobody ever remembers me for the anniversary of the discovery of Pluto, so there's just no gifts coming in to cheer me up.
BG - methinks you are right, but it surprises me to hear that it strikes y'all down there, too!
Tom - The sun and warmth can't come too soon - this winter has stretched on long enough!
Amy - THAT's what the problem is - no presents coming in!! Must come up with an excuse to badger the Rancher into showering me with gifts. Hahahahahaha
You've just described my every day when it comes to blogging. Why do you think I only blog every 5 days or so?
I'm with you with the mind- void thing. But, you always have unbelievable subjects that you can thinks of right off the top of your head. Now, I, on the other hand can pull a blank and it takes a while to think of something. I don't envy the tiptoeing issue, although, it may be good for your calves, or other parts of the body! It might become another one of those anti-fit exercises that you can do at home! I hope you have a better tiptoeing day today!
I love your blog even when you think you have "nothing" to say. Before completely reading the comments, I was thinking winter blues too. There's so much more going on with people when the weather improves and our activity level increases. Spring is definitely a time to "get out there and play."
wait, are you calling me a big shapeless blob?
Grab a friend, take your cameras and a picnic and go to the park by the river, or the lake. It will be an outing and break some of the winter blues if you do it on a sunny day.
I miss having a car!
Hilary - I thought you blogged infrequently because it takes a long time to organize all those gorgeous photos!!
Thanks, Redbush! I should have great calves from all this tiptoeing around, eh?
Conny - thanks - that's very kind of you! I'm sure that as soon as spring arrives, I'll have all kinds of things to blog about!
Marianne - Never!! You are one of the bright shiny distractions!! :)
Reb - Actually, I will most likely go on an outing tomorrow - need to get some groceries!! :)
I know what you mean about getting distracted- happens way too much to me. That's why I'm glad I'm taking up aikido to help me focus on a more regular basis!
I can so relate to the blogging block, and the eagerness for spring!
Funny how it seems so obvious when it's someone elses' issue. Simple: don't stress about the blog! We'll all still be here if you take some time off every now and then. Take care of yourself and do something fun!
But I tend to fret when i don't post, so I know it's easier said than done.
I never have that feeling.
if by never you mean FREAKIN ALWAYS---which I do.
I definitely get the brain fog too (as in, right now, I'm in the middle of one).
Hope yours clears up soon.
I remember when my dh was working nights and I had a baby to keep quiet while daddy slept. You're right - hardly anything gets done!
Sounds like it is time for some reminiscing posts. How about posting an old photo and writing about it? :)
Sagan - glad to hear you've found something to help you focus! Maybe I need to do something similar.
Crabby - it's funny, isn't it, how difficult it is to NOT post!
Miz - it never shows on your blog!
Tricia - glad to know I'm not alone - hope your brain fog clears soon, too!
kcinnova - thanks for the suggestion.... I will do exactly that! :)
