Sharing!!

Today the Bag Lady wants to share a few things with you. One of them is a brand new blogger who has recently started up, and the Bag Lady would encourage you to zip over and say hello to her. She is an exceptionally talented artist and she posted one of the Bag Lady's favourite paintings yesterday. You really should pop over to Redbush's Brambles and take a peek!

Another relatively new blog on the scene is this one, but the Bag Lady advises you to take your sense of humour with you when you visit. Rikk tends to sound a little on the cranky side about things, but in actual truth, he is far crankier than he appears he's just been in a bad mood for about 30 years!

The Bag Lady also wants to share this photo of the sunrise with you. It was absolutely gorgeous, and y'all know the Bag Lady can't seem to resist taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets, even if they never turn out all that well....
(click on it to enlarge - sometimes bigger really IS better!)

**Edited to add: The Bag Lady sent this picture in to the television station she watches, and the weatherman used it on his broadcast this morning! He said it was an "award-winning shot"!! The Bag Lady always knew he was incredibly intelligent and discerning!

****Edit #2 - here is as much of the broadcast as the Bag Lady was able to capture, using her little video camera! It's not the best quality, and you'll probably have to turn up the volume, but it's the best she could do!! Thanks, Mike, for making the Bag Lady's day!!

Rupal - thanks, I think that photo is one of the best I've taken. It was such a gorgeous sunrise!

Miz - thanks. I might have to print this one.

Marianne - thanks! I'm so glad I was able to capture it!!

I sent it to the television station in Edmonton and the incredibly brilliant weatherman recognized how wonderful it is, so he's going to use it on their newscast this morning! Gotta confess, I'm pretty excited!

GORGEOUS photo, Baggie. That's one of the prettiest I've seen anywhere.

I'll check out your new friends. :)

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Hilary! It was the prettiest sunrise I've seen in quite awhile.

That is a lovely photo! So pretty the way the trees are catching the colour of the sunrise.

Wow - you are right! That picture is GORGEOUS! (You do not give your photography skills enough credit.) And it is perfect for meditation. You and Mizfit are both right - and make quite the team:)

PS> I finally remembered to put your blog in my reader so I can keep up with your inspirational pics;)

JavaChick - thanks! It was so beautiful, I used both my cameras just to be sure I didn't miss it!

Charlotte - thanks! I was so enthralled with the sunrise, I almost missed out on taking the picture! (and thanks for putting me in your reader!)

A beautiful photo! I will check out the other sites....thank you!

the Bag Lady said...

dfLeah - yes, it was on pretty early this morning. It was quite thrilling for me, though!

Mark - thanks - hope you enjoy the other sites.

I was going to say something, then I clicked on the picture and all I can say is "it's PRETTY".

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Tricia - it is pretty, isn't it?

The weather man is clearly a person of taste and discernment! The picture enlarges too big for my screen, which leads to the discovery that any crop of it (as I scroll it around) is also a great composition. How good is that?

Redbush and Rikk, I haven't commented but I've looked. I keep a close eye on Bag Lady's sidebar.

Mary Anne in Kentucky - it was such a gorgeous sunrise, I'm not at all surprised that any crop of it works well! Some days you just get lucky. With the camera, I mean....

I absolutely love that picture! No wonder the weatherman raved about it. And how exciting to have it on tv!!!!

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Crabby! It was pretty exciting... hopefully I'll be able to share the newscast with everyone.

You should send that photo to a magazine too! That's so cool that the broadcast used it. It's really beautiful.

Am off to check out these new bloggers.

Beautiful! Don't forget us when you are famous!!!

Lucas said...

BL - You are famous!!!! That shot is truly beautiful. Even more amazing than the photo is that Mother Nature is capable of providing us with such amazing scenes. I love the outdoors!

the Bag Lady said...

Sagan - thanks! It really made my day to have it on TV!

Missicat - gee, my fame didn't last the requisite 15 minutes! The universe still owes me 14 minutes and 43 seconds.... :)

Lucas - exactly! My picture was just a lucky fluke - just happened to be in the right place to be able to share that glorious sunrise with everyone!

Ann (bunnygirl) said...

Lovely photo! My compliments to both the photographer and the landscape.

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, BG - that's one of the advantages of living in the country - you get an unobstructed view of Mother Nature in all her glory!!

Leah J. Utas said...

Truly, madly, deeply cool about the vid. Go you!

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, cousin!

Sarah said...

You were on tv!?? Congratulations!

the Bag Lady said...

Sarah - just the picture... not me! The picture was far prettier...

Redbush said...

Thanks Bag Lady for the recommendations to my blog! I really appreciate the wonderful complements! Now, I can only hope to be as talented as you! I am still in awe of the sunrise, and to have it on a newscast! Wow! That would make a person totally speechless! They are my favourite types of photos! I saw the sunrise yesterday, but through the trees, it wasn't half as nice as yours! Happy photo-taking!

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Redbush! I wish I was half as artistically talented as you are!! So there, we can be a mutual admiration society!!

Hey "Cowgirl!"

The last time he threw me was memorable! Some dog came from nowhere and spooked him. I was launched like the space shuttle up and off. I remember seeing one of my shoes flying by before I landed with a thud, like a sack of feed on the ground. My first thought was, "did that sound come from me?" Well, he was just standing there waiting at this point. I think I broke a rib or two, but yes, I climbed back on and we walked home. The treatment for a non displaced broken rib is time and "tough it out" so that's the story. I really was meant to be a cowboy :-)

PS Wonderful photo, thank you!!

the Bag Lady said...

Hey there, Dr. Cowboy!! When I fell off (how humiliating - I wasn't even thrown - the cinch was loose and the saddle slipped... galloping along, came to a fence - he turned and kept going, I went flying... sigh) I landed smack on my sacroiliac....and had to tough that out for a month! Took me so long to get my feet back under me (and to find my dignity, ahem) there was no way I could get back on. Lesson learned - saddle your own horse and check the cinch!! :)

wow -------congrats!!! That is an awesome shot.......maybe you should send it in to some contests :)

Reb said...

That is a wonderful photo Sis! I actually managed to sleep last night, so didn't catch the broadcast, glad you included it.

the Bag Lady said...

Annette - thanks! I wouldn't know where to enter it...

Reb - I figured that might be the case, or I would have called you!

Rikk Utas said...

Crrrranky? Me? I am flabbergasted that you would even consider saying such a truthful thing ....

the Bag Lady said...

We-e-ll, maybe cranky was putting it a little mildly... :)

All that gold spreading through the trees... BEAUTIFUL!

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, kcinnova! Wish I could take credit for making the sun rise, rather than just photographing it! :)

Oh, NEAT! That's a beautiful photo! I'm glad the newsman realized it as well. ;)

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Marste! He definitely has good taste, eh?! (giggle)

carla said...

Im off to start the day.

Valentines Day plans for you and the Rancherman?

Scrumpy said...

Amazing pic! It looks like the trees have leaves made of light.

the Bag Lady said...

Carla - actually, yes. For the first time in a very long time, the Rancher has Valentine's Day off and there are plans afoot...!!

SB - thanks! "Leaves of light" - perfect description!

AWE. SOME. And so great that it got put on TV!

My family made snowmen once in the shape of Charlie Brown and Snoopy, and a picture of that got on TV, but it wasn't NEARLY as fantastic!

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Melissa. And Snoopy snowmen on TV? Way cool! At least they were of your own family's creation! I didn't have anything to do with the sunrise - all I did was snap a picture! :)
