Happy Friday!

The Bag Lady is brain-tied this week. That's kinda like being tongue-tied, only worse. She started to write some ramblin'-a$$ed story, but discovered half way through that it was even boring her, so she didn't want to inflict it on you!

The problem is that absolutely nothing blog-worthy has been happening around the ranch lately. That's not to say that nothing has been happening, but most of it is just not interesting enough to share with you. (Pretty sure you don't give a hoot about finding the sock that disappeared in the laundry last week.... although that was a highlight as far as the Bag Lady was concerned!)

Her cat fell asleep on one of the high stools that sit at the island, rolled over and fell off. That was pretty amusing, but the Bag Lady didn't have the camera at hand, so y'all just have to use your imaginations about that one.

She's hoping that something interesting will happen around here pretty soon, and be assured, if it does, she'll be blogging about it. In the meantime, she hopes everyone has a great weekend!

Brain-tied...I like that! I may have to use that.

I love it when cats fall off things, they get such a funny attitude after! Like "I totally meant to do that and btw, if you don't stop laughing, I will sit on your face once you are asleep tonight."

Are you kidding me, That is one of the great mysteries of life. When you do a load of laundry and you know two socks when in and only one goes out, you'd think everyone has a dryer that needs to be fed?

messymimi said...

You found a missing sock? You defeated the hozone (the place hosiery disappears to)!

Congratulations!

Please be careful what you wish for.
The cat thing was funny.
And I totally get brain-tied. Great way to put it.

Reb - thanks! I love it, too, when cats do something stupid, then get that look! And start washing themselves like falling made them disheveled or something! :)

Rupal - I will be working those glutes, believe me! Enjoy your weekend, too!

Miz - I haven't had a hangover in forever! Maybe that's what I need to spice things up around here! (Not the hangover - but what comes before it!)

Annette - thanks! Poor Fuzzy was so embarrassed!

Marianne - we might have to do something drastic about this funk. Like touring Costa Rica or something....

Tom - I know, I know! Sometimes the errant sock is just hiding in a pants leg or something, but other times? Just gone....

Messymimi - Hahahaha - I love that! The hozone! Mind if I steal it?

dfLeah - oh yes, I forgot that old adage to be careful what I wish for 'cause it might actually come true!
Thanks for the reminder!

That's such a universal cat response.. and Reb described it perfectly. Unfortunately, nothing to blog about does not always mean nothing to do, or I'd tell you to relax and enjoy it.

How are those physio appointments going anyway? Are you finding improvement?

Tricia said...

Have a good weekend.

And the finding of the sock made me happy (things like that are my highlights too).

And in my imagining, the cat yowled when it realized it was falling.

the Bag Lady said...

Hilary - the physio is going fairly well - not much improvement yet, but it was a long time getting as bad as it did, so it will take a while to improve!

Tricia - it actually happened so fast, the cat didn't have time to yowl (for a change - he's very vocal most of the time!) But he certainly yowled at me for laughing at him! :)

Brain-tied. Yes...that is me at the moment. Very little sleep staying up sewing, but it was worth it...
Enjoy the quiet. I'm sure it will get busy soon enough!
I am always on a sock quest. One of our cats like to "hunt" them and stashes them (and my slippers) in random rooms of the house. We're always finding socks behind things when we tidy up...

JavaChick said...

Hehe...Cats are funny when they fall off things...They always look so disgusted with themselves.

:)

the Bag Lady said...

Geo - glad you got your sewing done! And in this house, it was the dog who was always stealing socks. She finally outgrew it, though.

Missicat - I know! The look on their faces is just too funny!

How can you expect us to be unexcited about the finding of a missing sock?
I never had that happen before I started doing my father's laundry. My socks are all very well behaved. His--not! Where do they hide when they aren't in the washer or the dryer or stuck inside the other clothes? I've just learned to be grateful when they finally reappear.

Mary Anne in Kentucky - my own socks are also well-behaved, but the Rancher's socks have a tendency to go AWOL. Sheesh.

Cats and high things, the entertainment never ends. My big kitty, Sampson, loves to knock things off of the counters when he isn't getting enough attention. He will look right at you while knocking something off as if to say "What you going to do about that?" Of course, he seems to love doing this best to things the dogs will pick up and chew on, thus getting THEM in trouble.

Oh, blog posts are supposed to about something blogworthy? I'm dooomed!!!

Too funny about the cat. They're supposed to be so graceful!

February funk here too, btw...

the Bag Lady said...

SB - that reminds me of my older cat! (Not the counter part - he knows he would learn to fly if he got up on the counter!) I have one of those water dishes where you fill a pop bottle and turn it upside down in the dish, supplying them with water. When the bottle is empty, the cat will bat it off the stand, thereby ensuring that I know there is no water. And, if it is the middle of the night, he will play with it until I wake up and go fill it for him!

Crabby - that's what was so funny - poor guy just rolled over and *plop*. Nothing graceful about it!
Hope February zings by so we can all get out of this funk!!

What I love about blogging is that you CAN write about ANYTHING. So much fun. The silliest most inconsequential thing can somehow become a really interesting blog post :)

the Bag Lady said...

Sagan - that's true. I think a lot of it has to do with how we can all relate to the simple things that occur in our lives!

Enjoy your weekend! I also wish I had my camera ready at all times to catch the ridiculous things my kitties do....I heard a noise one day and looked over to see Bad Cat had slipped off the window perch and was hanging on the side, his little back legs scrabbling to get back up...it was hysterical!

Missicat said...

OK...from reading the comments, I think we need to have a funny cat photo contest....

Redbush said...

I can totaly relate with the brain-tied funk thing! Now on the incident of the missing sock, when my fox terrier was a pup, I was missing some knee high nylons. Yes, you're right, after much searching I knew the only other conclusion was that he ate them. It was quite a few days before we realized the results. You guessed it, it was a strong stench of petroleum! Yuk! Have a great weekend!

Conny said...

My mind wanders with the missing sock theme...

I wonder if all "missing" socks aren't really missing at all. They're traveling the "hozone" to someone else's dryer. In that light, your missing sock just might've been the "extra" sock in my dryer. I am just kidding of course, AND it's kind of warped, but made me giggle nonetheless.

Have a great weekend, BL.

Right on!!! Missing sock!!! Hey, it IS exciting.

ScottieDog found my missing favorite earring, and my friend found my missing glove at her house, and not a moment too soon in this weather. So I know about the rush of elation that's involved there.

the Bag Lady said...

Missicat - a funny cat photo contest sounds like a great idea! Who wants to host it?

Redbush - Eeeuuuww - poor doggie! That can't have been pleasant for any of you!

Conny - that could very well be the answer - have you ever had any socks turn up that didn't quite match any of the rest of them? :)

Melissa - it's always great to find things that have been missing in action. Some things remain gone, though - like the car keys I lost in 1994, and the diamond out of my engagement ring. ~sigh~

I read your first post and decided to comment here after I read all the other posts as well. The way you described all the exercise of getting in the tractor, closing the door, back in the tractor, was so funny. I can relate. We have a ranch (no cows) up north and we have to do the same thing; out of truck, open gate, back in truck, close gait, drive, out of truck, unhook chain, back in truck, drive, up in truck, remove bag of concrete, down from truck, etc., etc. Only we ranchers truly get it.

You actually found a missing sock? That's quite an accomplishment.

Sometime I ought to blog about my sixth grade advertising project. Me and my group came up with the Bermuda Triangle Washing Machine Company, and my dad helped me make a cardboard "washing machine" with a false bottom that we used in our commercial. :-)

That's funny about your cat. Pix does the same thing on the back of one of our plush chairs. Silly kitty.

I heard that the Rancher and my brother stirred up the "hornet's nest" at the community meeting!!

Poutalicious - you know the old joke about if there are three guys in the front seat of a pick-up truck, how to tell which one is the smart rancher? The one in the middle...he doesn't have to drive, and he doesn't have to get out to open the gates! :)

BG - I think that would make a great blog post! And I'm posting a funny cat picture tomorrow....

Hi, cuzzie - yup, those two were among the very few who actually spoke up at the meeting!!
