Excuses

The Bag Lady has had a couple of "off" days lately. She hasn't felt like doing much of anything, except perhaps hiding under the covers until spring arrives! She has one of those nagging little headaches - not a rip-roaring migraine or a pounding hangover, just a wee cramp affecting her whole head. This generally means she's been clenching her teeth in her sleep. She cannot figure out what is bothering her, except perhaps this interminable winter!

She also has the theme from "Dallas" looping through her head. Over and over.
Maybe that's what's giving her the headache!

Hopefully something worthy of a blog post will happen soon!

aww- you poor thing! I hope your HA gets gone real fast! Have you tried massaging or even icing your Temporo-mandibular joint?

About a half inch under your earlobes and half inch forward; almost where your jaw meets your ears. Sometimes just a gentle rub will reduce some of the tension in your jaw.

Hope that helps :) Feel better soon!

Didn't Dad ever make you a night guard for that?

It could be worse than the Dallas theme...it could be "Green Acres" hehehehe

I hope you feel better!

Will drinking some tea help?

Hope you're feeling better...

I've had Inspector Gadget in my head since yesterday...

I don't mind you sharing the headache - I'm more than used to those, but did you HAVE to share the theme from Dallas? You and Reb are just sadistic! ;)

Hope you feel better real soon. :)

This is bizarre. I can't think of the Dallas theme right now. (Why am I complaining? Green Acres came right back.)

When this clenching happens, and I'm too lazy to put in the TMJ splint, I find a chew toy. That may help. Totally agree with R.

Something to relax your muscles in general may offer some relief.

Hope you're better fast.

Rupal - thanks, I'll give that a try! It does seem a little better now, so perhaps blogging about it made it go away!

Sis - yes, he did, but I keep spitting it out at night. Sigh.
And thanks.... now you've switched it to Green Acres. Sigh. Oh, wait, it's back to Dallas. Crap - it's both!!!

Miz - sorry.... it's terrible when that happens, isn't it?

Thanks, Tricia! Not sure if the tea will help the TMJ problem, but it might be just what I need to help me relax!

Geo - thank heavens, I don't know the Inspector Gadget thing! Dallas and Green Acres are plenty!!

Hilary - oops, sorry.... but why should I be the only one with Dallas stuck in my head!?

dfLeah - you're lucky you can't remember the Dallas theme - I wish the same would happen to me!
I'm off to the physiotherapist today, so maybe that will take my mind off my TMJ... but with the snow and the roads the way they are, I'll probably be clenching all the way to town and back... sigh.

I hear ya bag lady. I stayed in bed until 8:30 this morning, which I never do. Everyone needs a break now and then.

SB - it must be a day for sleeping in - I didn't get up until 6:30 this morning!! Shocking, I know.

I hear ya....my head is pounding so loud I can't think...I really need to go home. :-(

the Bag Lady said...

Oh, no, Missicat! I hope you feel better soon! Mine is just a nagging little ache - yours sounds terrible!

Damn weather. It's EVIL.

Hiding under the covers is a great plan!!! And I'm so glad I don't know the theme music from Dallas! Otherwise I'd probably come up there and kill you....

Sagan - I am getting so tired of this weather.... why is this year so much worse!?

Melissa - yes, you would. Especially the last part of the song. It's driving me crazy!!!!!!

Sorry, you're feeling blue. I can't imagine living where winter is longer than summer. Hope you feel better soon. I grin my teeth too, and sometimes I even push down so hard on my back teeth, I end up with a toothache. Yikes.

Hope you feel better! Maybe the honey and cinammon will cure your headache while it's doing it's total makeover on you!

(Tell Reb that now I'm stuck with the Green Acres theme--and unfortunately I even know the words. Gosh, how old am I?_

I never really watched Dallas, but now I can't stop grinning and humming along with Green Acres! It cracks me up, for some reason. Maybe because you left the City for the Ranch? ;)

February makes me want to crawl under the covers. I need the sunshine but gosh darn it, it's COLD outside and the wind makes it impossible to expose my face to the sun. *sigh*

Hey, Bag Lady! I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well! I hope all is well soon. Try using hot and cold compresses, but, I'm sure you've heard this before. I hate when you have a tune in your head that lingers forever. No matter what you think about, it still comes back. Take care!

Maggie - it's terrible, isn't it, when you grind your teeth! Wish I could figure out what's stressing me out so I could stop...

Amy - Ah, yes, the Green Acres theme. Thanks a lot, Reb!! Green Acres is the place to be....

kcinnnova - do I have to wear my hair in a beehive and talk in a funny accent???

Redbush - that happens to you, too? Damned tune is STILL stuck in my head....sheesh!
