All of us have been affected by cancer, if not personally, then by knowing someone who has been diagnosed. My mother and two of her sisters died of colon cancer; two more of her sisters died from lung cancer. My own sister has battled breast cancer.
Let's all do something today to honor those people we know who have fought this battle. Whether it is making a donation to a cancer society, or donating your time at a clinic, offering support to someone who has been diagnosed, or wearing a yellow shirt in honor of Lance Armstrong's Livestrong Day.

I was going to wear a pink ribbon, but for today, I am wearing a yellow scrunchie in my hair and a bright gold t-shirt.
My beloved grandmother successfully battled breast cancer for a dozen years. It was when it hit her lungs that she lost the battle. She passed away 22 years ago next month. I often thought of her smiling at my babies from heaven.

Thanks for sharing the link. I'll definitely check out her site. My aunt survived breast cancer... my uncle is currently battling Stage 4 throat cancer, taking radiation treatment and chemo. It's scary what people go through..

Awesome post! When I worked at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, they used to tell us 1 person's cancer diagnosis affected, on average, 22 people. That was back in the 80's so the number is probably much higher now.
I missed Livestrong but will in some way support Breast Cancer Month.
