The Bag Lady is feeling a little nostalgic today. She misses summer. She needed something to remind her of the warmth and beauty of summer, so she decided to share this with you....
What gorgeous lillies, I can almost smell them through my computer : ) Thank you for such a pretty, refreshing picture...now I can go back to enjoying my 50F weather before it drops into the 20s tonight!
I've been listening to the ice crash off the roof all night and this morning, and trying to decide where it will be safe to plant things that don't die back to the ground every winter. Not near the drip line, that's for sure!
I've already been looking through the seed catalogue, thinking about what to plant this year, and wondering how long before the first spring flowers poke up through the ground...Of course, everything is covered in snow & ice at the moment. :(
Lillies are my favourite, and like my mom, I love plants! I'm craving spring before winter even starts, so, I guess I must be living in the wrong climate! Today is another day closer to spring, and, is warmer. I hope it lasts, but, I know the groundhog will probably disappoint us. Oh, yes, my hubby did recognize those roads in that video you made!
awww.....thank you! I am seriously missing Spring and Summer too. It has been so cold here this winter, I am honestly looking forward to hot, hot sweaty weather! And usually, I prefer cooler weather! I think age has brought out another side of me. Maybe a move to one of the coasts someday?
oh how pretty!! I think we all need a bit of spring & summer right now. I posted summer pics for this week's WWC, and it made me happy. (This from someone who LOVES snow!!)
I like the little purple ones in the back. What are those? My husband is going to start his plants soon (basement, grow lights), and I saved delphinium seeds last year for him to try to grow (black thumbs here).
Marianne - the little purple ones in the back are mallows. If you want your whole garden and yard full of pretty purple flowers, plant those. They spread like crazy and I think are considered a nuisance (almost noxious) weed in lots of places!

Hey, I'm first today!!!

Emily - glad you like it! It's actually warmer here today than it has been, but I still wish it was summer!

Mary Anne in Kentucky
That is much better - thanks! We have had sleet/freezing rain here last night night and this morning -I am so over winter!
Mary Anne - I can understand your hesitation in wanting to plant anything where it will be in the line of fire. (Line of ice?)
Missicat - you're welcome! I am really over winter too. Sheesh.
Lovely, lovely flowers. :)
Thanks, SB!!
Beautiful flowers...That is much better!

Javachick - I think seed catalogues are sometimes the only thing worth looking at in the dead of winter!
Oh that's lovely, Baggie. But a tad depressing. We're being snowed on as I type and expecting 15 - 17 cm of the white stuff.
BagLady,
We are getting slammed by one of those cold, wet, snow/ice/rain type of days today. If ever I longed for summer, today is it.
Great, now I'm craving flowers.
Oh, Hil - I didn't mean to depress you! Sorry to hear it's snowing there. It's really grey and cloudy here. But not snowing. Yet.
Tom - you, too? The weather seems to be nasty almost everywhere today!
Melissa - better to crave flowers than chocolate, right? :)
and usually I offer you to come here.
dont come here.
icyicy.

Miz - that must be a pretty wide-spread ice storm! Here it is just windy. Really windy.
Redbush - I love lilies, too! And am really, really looking forward to spring. I thought Mr. Redbush might recognize those roads!!
Lovely. I know I shouldn't whine, but I really hate anything below 50F and I'm suffering today.
At least we're never without flowers around here. Right now it's pansies. Crepe myrtles should start blooming next month, and azaleas in March.

BG - I almost posted a picture of a pansy! It was a little blurry, though, so I went with the lilies. Pansies are such happy-looking little flowers.
Annette - it has felt like a terribly long winter, hasn't it? I don't like it too hot, but sheesh, I'm tired of the cold.
Mmmm...nice.
Oh, yes! Needed that today!
Geo and Reb: Thanks - hope it helped!

kcinnova - we all need some flowers in our lives once in awhile!
beautiful!!!!!!
Thanks, Crabby!
