The Year in Review

The Bag Lady admires all those bloggers out there who take the time to go through their archives, pick out the posts that they enjoyed, or that got the best responses or the most reaction...... but..... she's too freakin' lazy to do all that!

Some of her posts really stick out in her mind. Unfortunately, she's so lazy, she forgets to label her posts, so can't find any of them to link to. ~~Sigh.~~

Remember this one? Camping was such fun, even if the weather wasn't the best. The Bag Lady loves making videos, but hasn't had any really good subjects lately.

And this post got the most comments.

Okay, enough reminiscing. Most of the Bag Lady's Blather is simply that - blather! Thank you all for reading, though! The Bag Lady enjoys sharing her rather mundane life with you, and hopes that some of what she blathers on about is occasionally interesting, or educational, or at the very least, amusing!

She has decided not to make any New Year's resolutions. (*gasp*) Yes, she is breaking with tradition and will greet the New Year with only a smile. It's too damned hard to find anything new to resolve to do, or not do, or lose, or quit, or start, or..... (all the old ones have been broken and beaten to death - you know you're getting old when you've broken every New Year's resolution ever invented....).

What about you? Have you made a New Year's resolution? And how long before you think you'll break it?

oooh I love trips down memory lane!

and resolutions? none here.

I like to set myself up for success that way :)

I can't remember what I did yesterday, much less last year! Love the redneck workout. Surprised that you didn't put anything about redneck hydration...

Carla - good way to set yourself up for success! Methinks I should try that!

Marianne - did I leave that part out? We were definitely hydrating whilst camping..... :)

As a wise person once said, "I so far behind and look ahead, I think I'm in first place". I Just don't remember what resolution goes with what year any more, so I resolve to do just like you Bag Lady and skip it. Oh, you have made me laugh with what you call blather. :)

Tom - glad to know I have amused you on occasion! And that I'm not alone in the resolution-skipping!
Happy New Year!

Greeting the New Year with a smile is a great resolution in its own right.
Mine? Ain't got none. Errr, well, maybe show a wee bit more respect for grammar.
Happy New Year, dear cousin.

No resolutions here! I am perfect the way I am!!! :-)

Happy New Year!!

dfLeah - methinks you are ordinarily fairly respectful of grammar! Happy New Year.

Missicat - glad you are perfect - there are so few of us! LOL Happy New Year to you, too.

I don't make specific "New Year" resolutions. Any time is a good time to turn over a new leaf, and besides, I'm the sort who needs to jump quickly on a new idea or I'll get distracted and move on.

I love that, "greet the New Year with only a smile"- THAT'S the way to ring in the New Year!

The Redneck Workout is so funny, I'd forgotten about that.

the Bag Lady said...

BG - that is so true - my mother always used to say "there's no time like the present...."

Sagan - Thanks! I had sort of forgotten how silly it was, too.

Well, you know I haven't done a resolution in years, which is in fact keeping the only resolution I have ever kept. I loved the redneck workout glad you reminded us of it.

Happy New Year Sis!

Be sure to take picture of your greet-the-new-year smile!! I want to see it.

No set resolutions here. The Redneck Workout was a great post though.

Reb - I was thinking of you and your resolution-keeping ability!
Happy New Year, Sis.

Melissa - You don't really want to see a picture of my drunken grin, do you? :)

Tricia - glad you enjoyed the redneck post - I had so much fun with that one!

No resolutions BL. Just to keep on keeping on.

And I loved the camping trip video. I had never read that post before and enjoyed it greatly.

I don't do resolutions, either. Hey, I don't even have goals! I just sort of see what happens next.

The usual: lose weight, exercise more.
I prefer to greet the new year with a drink! But those have excess calories and dh makes faces at me...
pooey.

Lucas - that's all we can do sometimes! And I'm glad you enjoyed the camping video - it was loads of fun (both the weekend, and making the video!)

Mary Anne - we're very alike that way then. Goals? Breathing, eating..... you know.

kcinnova - you could always drink red wine - all those antioxidants make for the perfect excuse!

Resolutions to me are just too fuzzy and unachievable, so no resolutions here - only written (ok, typed) plans to follow to get where I'd like to go... in fact, while I celebrated with a yummy fancy dessert, I will be going to bed well before the "magic moment", in order to achieve said plans.

the Bag Lady said...

Due to my flu, I think I'll be going to bed long before the magic hour, too, dang it all!
And good for you for having a written plan - wish I could be as organized! Happy New Year, gizmogirl!

happppy new year!

what did you and the cowwhispererrancher end up doing?

the Bag Lady said...

Happy New Year to you, too, Miz!!

We actually stayed home. Hubby watched the Clint Eastwood marathon on TV and I spent a lot of time in the bathroom. ~~sigh~~

Hope yours was more exciting!

Goodness, look at all the comments. :-)

I have various small resolutions, I suppose, and a larger one about taking things as they come, but mostly I just hope 2009 will be better than 2008, which was better than 2007.

Have a happy new year!

I did make some general goals, and I don't know how long until I break them! Although usually, I just bend them, then snap back into line, and so on. Keep doing that until I've gotten habituated or whiplash.

Several years ago, I decided I wanted to be a daily bedmaker. Silly maybe, but I didn't grow up in a household where we did it. It took months, but later, I'd become a person happier with a made bed than an unmade one and willing to spend the 2 minutes regularly. It's so mundane, but those kind of little changes have big ripples for me. I hope I can chip away at the tasks I set myself for 2009.

Thank goodness blogpals make every success and failure more fun!

Happy New Year!

the Bag Lady said...

Happy New Year to you, too, Mark!

Diddums - I think that really is all any of can hope for - that this year will be better than the one previous! Thanks for stopping by!

Clare2e - I'm a bed-maker, too! Mother used to nag about it, so for awhile after I was out on my own, I didn't do it! Now I'm back in the habit, it just doesn't feel right if it isn't done!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Happy New Year, Baggie. No resolutions here.. at least none spoken aloud. But I like Leah's decision to have more respect for Grammar.. but hope she'll also respect Gramps. Maybe I should resolve to stop with the puns. ;)

the Bag Lady said...

Oh No, Hilary - never stop with the puns!!
Happy New Year to you, too!
