Woot!

The Bag Lady is off to town this morning. She finally has an appointment for a physiotherapy consultation in regards to her back. She's been on the waiting list since February.

She may get a little Christmas shopping done, too, if the stars are properly aligned.

The weather has turned a little more wintery, which helps put her in the spirit. Of course, she hates winter, hates driving in winter, and hates shopping, so the spirit she's in is more Grinch-like than Santa-like.....Ho Ho Ho....

Drive carefully on the icy roads! Both Boy and I nearly came a cropper this morning, Leeds is thick with ice!

Hope your appointment goes well! I'm going to get on the NHS list now I've run out of money, let's see how long it takes me....

Thanks, HIlary! I'm hoping so, too.

TA - Oh no - I hate icy roads!! Glad you're okay.
And hope you don't have to stay on the list as long as I did. (When we talked about lists on your blog, this wasn't what we had in mind, was it?)

dfBag Lady - Physio is great. Glad you got on. Best of luck with the adventures in town.

dfLeah - thanks! At least my appt. isn't until a little later this morning, so I don't have to drive in the dark....

I was glad to see the snow this morning...for about 10 minutes :)
Then by the time I made it to the bus stop I'd gotten a bit colder and grinchier.
Hope you have a good day in town today and they can help out your back...physio can do a world of good. Hope it helps.

Wishing you luck with your appointment; may it be worth the wait!

Thanks, Miz. They told me the waiting time was a year, so this was fast..... ha.

Javachick - so do I! I would hate to think I waited all this time for nothing!

Geo - thanks! I know what you mean about the snow, but I guess it's better than freezing rain. Of course, all it did around here was cover up all the ice we have from the freezing rain we had two days ago. ~~sigh~~

Thanks, Mary Anne. I'll let y'all know!

I'm with you on the "not to fond of winter" front! My solution? Make everything, and what you cannot make, buy online! It saves me both the hassle of trudging around in the blistering cold (no snow yet here in NYC) and it keeps me from having to subject myself to countless elevator versions of "Rudolph".

Hope your appointment goes well!

Hi, Meg - oh, thanks for reminding me about the music in the stores - I'll have to take my earplugs! :)

I make a lot of my gifts, too, but still need to pick up a few things. Hope I can get it all done today.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

Hmm, maybe some doctors here (where the malpractice insurance is so high that practices are closing) should move up there.

Be careful on the roads!

Good luck with your appt! Get some good drugs! ;-)

Be careful! Hate driving in bad weather, mostly because of all the OTHER drivers. grrr.

Tricia - we definitely do not have enough health care professionals around here!

Missicat - I plan on leaving plenty early and taking my time. Easier to watch out for other drivers that way!

Good luck to you Lady. I know that back thing can be a real pain, no pun intended.

Since FEBRUARY? That does seem like a long time to wait for an appointment!

Hope it's worth the wait!

And I'm with you on shopping--not a big fan. But hope the grinchiness gets better and you have a great day.

I'm with you on the shopping and driving. Snow is lovely if you can stay indoors by a cozy fire.
Best wishes for your appointment.

Haaaaate Rudolph. Think about it, it basically says "You're weird and we reject you...oh wait, we can use you, yay!"

Hope the physio goes well!

The long-awaited Fiddle Diddle Recipe:

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups rolled oats

1. Mix sugar, butter, and milk in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium or lower.
2. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Remove from heat and add cocoa, salt, vanilla, and rolled oats.
4. Drop from spoon onto waxed paper.

These are SO GOOD. And sugary. Yum.

Good luck with your physio appointment, I hope it's all good news and excellent recommendations.

And may you find great bargains and short lines if you Christmas shop, although my personal recommendation is that you order online and wait for a sexy UPS guy to bring the stuff to your door. ;-)
