First, the Bag Lady cleaned her bedroom/bathroom and got it ready for the bride to use:

It was truly a family affair with 4 generations taking part in the ceremony, and a wonderful time was had by all!

Mary Anne in Kentucky - the wind was a little nasty (hard on the hairstyle), but it was warm and sunny and quite pleasant. No frost, but it did cool off a lot after the sun went down.
Geo - it was a lovely day! The Rancher and I spent a lot of time visiting with old friends, and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
dfLeah - we did have a great time, and I was honoured that the bride chose my house for making her preparations.

It looks like a lot of fun. While I have nothing against churches, my personal experience has been that weddings that take place in less formal places are much more enjoyable for all concerned.

What a pretty country wedding! The dancing couple coulda been plucked right off the cover of a romance novel- His Blushing BBQ Bride!
And did everyone obey the "no gifts" specification? That's what my grandparents said on the golden wedding party invitations, and they were flooded with gifts--especially from all their brothers and sisters, and they were the eldest of nine, and eleven.

Mary Anne in Kentucky - Most people obeyed the 'no gifts' rule - I did see a few gifts, but I think they were mostly from family members.

What a beautiful wedding! Although the "supper" pic was a little jarring. I love how they rode in on a wagon!
Something about the wagon and the three daughters on each side puts me in the mood for 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. :)
Sparrow - how true! We can ponder whether we should use a wagon or a buggy. That decision could take another 14 years. :)

How fun! The pictures really do tell the story. I'm sure the food was yummy but I have to say I was a little startled by that particular shot - ha!
