Giveaway Post!

The Bag Lady spent an enjoyable weekend puttering around the garden, going to town for supper with friends on Saturday, and having people out to her place for supper on Sunday.

She spent a lazy Sunday dealing with some of the bounty from her garden.... pickling beans. She used the same recipe and the same method as she did when she pickled carrots awhile back. Except for adding some dried hot peppers to a couple of jars, just for change.

She is sure that you all find this fascinating..... you don't? Dang. Do you want her to make up a tell you a story? Not that either? Sheesh.

Well then perhaps she could interest you in a giveaway? She has two coupons for POM Wonderful that she is willing to share with some lucky reader. For the price of a comment, that is. Just mention in the comment section whether you are interested in receiving the coupons for POM Wonderful (which she was tickled pomegranate pink to receive from the POM Wonderful people!!) and the Bag Lady will use a randomly generated number to pick a winner.

Dear Bag Lady,

Such coupons as these would be welcomed and used well, I promise. Right now I consider such juices to be a luxury item, so if your random generator picks me, I will be grateful.

Oh, and Miz, that is why I live only just over an hour's drive from my parents. Close enough that frequent, short visits are possible, far enough to prevent day to day interference. If that ever becomes possible for you, I do recommend it.

Hooray, you're joining the ranks of blogs that get PR emails!

It's kind of fun to give stuff away, isn't it?

Be prepared for some weird-ass sh*t, though. I'm still trying to stop laughing over "poo-pourri," a product designed to spray in the toilet after you... well, never mind. I felt sorry for the poor PR person who had to handle that campaign. I don't think I'm the only one who turned down that giveaway.

dfBag Lady, good for you for having a giveaway. No need to enter me in the draw as I won something similar a few months back.
And, of course, it would look awfully suspicious if a family member won.

Just catching up on blogs after my vacation.... your garden is looking great... but a frost warning? In August? That's just not right.

Had a very very rough week last week...may actually update my blog on it...

How cool is that.. you're in the big ranks now. ;)I'm not a big POM fan, so might as well leave me out of it too. Mostly I wanted to let you know that I'm still alive and kicking. Well maybe more like alive and shuffling. ;) I'll be back in full swing soon. :)

Mmm...pomegranate juice and champagne is delicious...I wouldn't mind a bit :)

Whew! I was gone a few weeks and after reading all your posts to catch up I am now craving mustard beans and carrot pickles. I wish my Mum still grew a garden...I'm going through pickle withdrawal :)

I'm trying to fill the gap by making a rediculous amount of peach pies ....yum...

Please don't give me any POM wonderful or POM anything. I still have some in my fridge.

I love how you pickle so many things. I just wouldn't have thought about carrots and beans. No, pickled pickels - sure!

I'll pass on the POM thingie though. But what a sweet offer!!

You can't trick me Bag Lady, that POM sounds suspiciously healthy.

When you get the chocolate truffle samples, count me in.

Or, if the pickled beans and carrots become a giveaway, sign me up.

df Bag Lady,

I have no need of the coupons but just wanted to remind you that although I never garden and rarely cook--and in my vocabulary getting pickled would clearly involve a half bottle of wine, I do love when you put up these domestic posts.

Pickled beans with hot peppers! You are a creative genius.

I would love the coupons because I always want POM when I see it at the store and I never buy it because it's too expensive! :)

My husband says that Pom can cure all evils, but it is expensive- so thanks for this chance!

It would look suspicious as Leah pointed out if family qwon, so count me out. But sound like a good weekend.

Miz - you have my sympathy!
Hang in there.

Messymimi - consider yourself entered!

Crabby - I'm grateful that I haven't received that offer! Although, come to think of it, it might have potential for a chuckle.... :)

dfLeah - it would look a little suspicious, wouldn't it?

Shammickite - good to see you again! Hope you had a good holiday. The frost was a heart-breaker.

Missicat - you're in! And yes, you'd better post on your blog and tell us all about it!

Hilary - glad to see you back! Looking forward to more of your fabulous photos.

Geo - hope you had a good holiday! You're in for the draw, too!

POD - okay, I'll leave you out if you insist.

Aleta - I have to do something with all this produce! And pickled carrots are great!

Sparrow - don't you want to be in the draw for the POM? I was thinking about giving away some pickles, but have to make sure they turn out alright, first!

dfTerrie - well, if you're sure you don't want any.... Good to see you, anyway!

Lucas - I will enter you for the draw, fer shure!

TZel - it IS expensive, but it is really good (and good for you!) I'll put your name in for the draw.

Reb - It might do you a world of good - are you feeling better yet? But yes, it would look a little suspicious.... :)

I have never heard of POM - does it exist this far south & east?

I was entertaining myself in the car today (halfway through the 500 mile trip) by staring at the map until I became nauseous. Now I am curious how far north you actually live! (I was mentally "pinning" little flags on the map where blogging buddies live.)

kcinnova - look at the map of Alberta. Find the asshole. We live right next to it.

What, you don't like POM - it is very good for you...
don't enter me in draw..I'm not a coupon user...but for those of you who mentioned you like the juice and how expensive it is...Costco sells 2litre jugs for same price as regular grocery stores charge for a itty bitty one.

and re: pou-pourri - a friend from Edmonton brought some with her for our "girls night out" last fall - she got it at Walmart or London Drugs and it was called "just a Drop" really does work!!!!
