Weather Report

The cold has abated, slightly. It is only -34C (around -28F) with the windchill this morning. The Bag Lady is getting a little bit of cabin fever, though. Even her computer doesn't like the cold weather and is slower than normal (which was really, really slow to begin with!)

She will produce a proper post a little later on today.

Yeah, it's only the mid -30s here today, too. We've got our nerve calling that a temperature!

Totally get the cabin fever issue. What's worse is we haven't had any mail delivered in two days, and we live in town.

We need to get out and about shortly or we'll start to blue mould, as my maternal grandmother would say.

My mom used to say we had to get out in the fresh air and "get the stink blown off". Starting to feel that way now.
It's starting to snow now...sigh.

df Bag Lady,

Hang in there! Valentine's Day is around the corner, then St. Patrick's Day and ~~TA DA~~ Spring will come in all its glory!

dfTerrie - Thanks! Some days it feels like spring will never come, but in truth, the time passes so quickly nowadays that it'll be autumn before we know it!

Brr. It's actually above zero here and I'm so happy. It probably won't last, but for now I'm enjoying it!

javachick - haven't you had some nasty weather lately, too? Seems to me I saw something on the weather about freezing rain and stormy weather back East. Mostly PEI, though.

Yesterday it rained and rained.

At 5 am this morning it was +5. By 7:30 am (when I'm driving to work) all the schools were closed, and they were warning everyone driving to be careful, because there were flash freeze warnings and the temperature had dropped to -5, and was expected to get to -13 over the day.

I think mother nature is having some severe mood swings!

Sarah: Mother Nature has what, PMS? Menopause? Hehehehe
One thing the Bag Lady hates even more than really cold temperatures is freezing rain.
You drive carefully, you hear?

I don't get cabin fever, but then again I could be a hermit, so...

Reb, we all have that hermit tendency, I think. It's more the idea that it's too cold to go outside rather than the actual desire to go outside that's bothering me!

Lor here, (eldest cousin of your cowboy) - - so much wiser and more experienced with living in the older days... I rode a horse to school in Grade 1 and gave the cowboy a ride on my bike when he was in Grade 1.. about ten days a year when it wasn't snowing or muddy...
love your stories and when we get together shall give you more "fodder" stories from cowboys' mom and and my mom (his Aunt Jean) from the "good old days"

"Only" 30 below. Gosh, break out the bikinis and pina coladas!

Brrrrrrr.

Hey, Lor! The Bag Lady is looking forward to getting more fodder from you! Was wondering if you would read them and what you would think.
Hi, Crabby - oh, yeah, bring on the bikinis...well, maybe the pina coladas, anyway...
