Due to the onset of winter, this birdbath is closed until further notice.

Poor birdies.

It's too cold for a bath anyway. Put on some long johns and belly up to the bird feeder!
You DO have a bird feeder, don't you? Of course you do!

oooh that pic brings back childhood memories of how we'd judge the snowfall from overnight (while warm in our pjs in the kitchen drinking hot chocolate LAYERED with marshmallows) by our birdfeeder.

D*MN TX and its coldfronts (30s. hotfront to you :)) sans snow...

Oh, my. Maybe it could be a birdie ski slope.

Ha! Leah beat me to it. I was thinking Birdieboggans. ;)

kcinnova - of course there are birdfeeders here!! (5 of them, actually).

Miz - That's pretty much how it was when I took the picture (except it was coffee, no marshmallows!)

dfLeah - I've been trying to figure out how to strap those little tiny skis on their feet....

Hilary - Oooo - tiny little toboggans would be easier to build! :)

Yeah, I would say that's closed for business!

Come on, with our Scandinavia heritage, you could build them a sauna right beside it, then they could snow bathe :)

Are there any birdies even left? I have no idea why some birds stick around in the winter... crazy, the lot of them!

Humans are, of course, very different. (ha!)

If you were nicer, you'd go clean that snow off so they can get back to doing what birds do best which I think may be squawking and pooping.

I agree - time for toboggans! :)

We put a light bulb inside a gargage can and place the bird bath tray on top of can - keeps the water from freezing and during the day the birds continue to have water to drink and a place to bath...funny how they seem to bath more in the winter than in the summer. Looks really cool at night - glowing garbage can in backyard - like aliens have landed. I'll send you a pic this evening.

Sorry for all the smelly birdies in need of a bath--but the blanket of snow sure is pretty!

Now it needs a little sign like "Pool Closed for the Season."

Birdie tobaggons would be kind of cute too.

Have a great and Happy New Year.
