The Bag Lady thinks she may have screwed up. On the other hand, maybe not.
On Sunday, she decided to paint her hallway. Spur of the moment decisions are not necessarily smart.....
But she can fix it. Right after work today, she is going to pick up another can of paint!
Actually, she really likes the colour that she chose, it just needs to be lighter. She'll add some white, slap on another coat and it will all be perfect.
Really it will.

Well...I can't leave you alone for a second without you getting into trouble!!
Sorry I wandered off without a word. Technical difficulties were a little longer than temporary.
I'm looking forward to catching up since the last time I was over this way, you had just had a big snowfall.
OOOH I LOVE THE VIBRANT COLORS.
do we get hints? pics?
You have too much energy and really ought to come my way for a visit -- I'm in the middle of a change-up of rooms/room usage. My husband fears it won't be done before Thursday (how well he knows me). I'm sure with you here the project would be finished AND I'd have fresh paint on the walls!
Do we get Before and Now and Fixed pictures?
The thing about being impulsive with paint, rather than cloth, is that paint CAN be fixed. Once you've cut the cloth, you can't change your mind.

What colour is it?? Pictures pictures!
I suggest giving it a week or two. It might not be what you planned but colour has a way of growing on you.. especially if it's just a matter of "too dark" and not too off the spectrum. So, what colour IS it?
Hi, Sparrow! I was wondering where you'd gotten to.... thought perhaps you'd gone off on some exotic vacation without me!!
And that snow we had? Never went away. Sigh.
Carla - I shall share some pictures soon.... I promise.
kcinnova - I'm not sure I could get there before Thursday.... :)
Mary Anne in Kentucky - you are so right! Paint can always be fixed. Cloth, not so much. As with lumber; once it's cut, it's done.
Sagan - blue. Really blue. Pictures later in the week.
Hilary - no, I think it really needs to be lightened up. It's a hallway with no natural light, and it is just too dark. Blue. A gorgeous colour of blue, but too dark.
It can never be too dark :)
I wish I was brave enough to paint on the spur of the moment like that - it's a long agonizing decision for me. We've been in our house for...8 years? The only painting we've done is the basement (because it was unfinished when we moved in) and the spare room (which was pushed through by my sister - otherwise it would still be pink with a mural which is how it looked when we moved in).
Geo - it seemed to make the hallway look dark.... and slightly forbidding.
JavaChick - oh, wait..... I've been contemplating this for a long time! (I've had the paint for about 2 years *ahem)
It'll be fine. Too bad the colour is too dark.
A lighter shade of blue sounds like it will work, and make the hall feel bright and cheery.
I assume this is the hall to the bedroom? (The only one I can think of with no natural light) It has two doors and is only five steps long... it's not like you can get lost in it ;) How about painting over just the bit around your bedroom door? Or there is a technique where you paint patterns over in either varnish or there is an almost clear stuff that gives an opalescent effect, high gloss anyway that would reflect light.
I wish I had a picture - it seems some know which hallway you're talking about. Couldn't you just turn it into an art gallery? Dark backgrounds are good for that. Oh, and you'd need some lighting too (to show off the pictures ofcourse). Did my suggestions just cost you a ton of money?
No pictures???
Well, this sounds exactly like the painter's remorse I had after painting my bedroom. I mulled over just replacing all the bedding but took your advice and opted to repaint...still haven't done it, tho. Probably won't until after the holidays...*sigh*
Hahahah! I have SO done that! I'm the worst with paint... Good luck lightening it up:)
dfLeah - yes it will be fine (tomorrow, after I fix it!!)
Messymimi - that's what I'm hoping.
Reb - there are all kinds of things I could do. I haven't quite decided yet, but I know I want it lighter. Somehow.
Conny - actually, you kind of read my mind! It's not a very long hall, but I would like to put some pictures along it.
Melissa - soon! I'll take some photos and let y'all see how it turns out.
Cheryl - That's the best thing about paint - if you don't like it, you can just paint over it! :)
Charlotte - thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one! :)
