Monday, Monday.....

The Bag Lady regrets that she is taking a brief HiAYtus (get it?) from blogging today. She's been really busy this weekend with haying and visiting and real life stuff that she didn't have time to prepare an actual post for today. She promises that she'll be back soon. Honest. As soon as they finish getting the last bit of hay put up.

Here's a little something to tide you over 'til then.

Ummm......

Did she show you this already?......

She totally stole this idea from the Cowman's cousin....

And next year she's going to put even more flowers on that old ladder!!

Have a good day!

Living and not blogging? What a concept!

(Love the flower ladder).

Life. Gaaah. Danged thing gets in the way of everything.
Come back soon.

Does the cat leave the flowers alone? One of my friends did this indoors with houseplants, and her cat said "Ladders belong to cats!" Thud, thud, thud.

Miz - hear, hear! *clink*

Crabby - I know, it's killing me to be too busy to blog!! (and thanks)

dfLeah - I might actually be around today...depends on how things shake out around here.

Mary Anne - oh no! Perhaps if mine was inside, that would happen, too, but with it outside, the cats are too busy chasing/catching birds, mice, weasels and the odd bug to bother with it!

Clever idea. It's a .. ummm.. step up from just setting them on the deck. ;)

Hilary - you crack me up! Thanks, I needed that!

beautiful! That is the perfect spot for me to sit-n-relax while I watch you cowgirl around!

Hay! dfTerrie! Sometimes there's just too much to do and not enough time. That's kinda how it's been around here.

Fitarella - it is a good spot for sittin' and watchin', and drinkin' and laughin' and just generally goofin' around!!
Been practicing your lasso-ing? :)

Hope you're almost done.
I'm the same way - life and holidays and all the rest has kept me away in the real world the past few weeks.
Hope you're getting lots done and can relax at the end.
Does your cat try and climb up the ladder like mine does? And if so - does it shove the plants off the ladder? My cats are like Mary Anne's friend's - they don't think ladders are for anyone else but them!

Make hay while the sun shines!

(You knew someone had to say it, right?)

I'm glad your man liked the spinach bread. I need to make another batch myself. It's particularly tasty spread with a bit of pesto and with a poached egg on top. Or maybe I'm just strange.

Everything belongs to cats. Just accept it.
Living? Like in having a life? I have read about that...

Geosomin - with luck (and good weather!), we should have the biggest part done by Tuesday. Once it's all rolled up into bales, we can relax a little. Then it's just a matter of hauling it off the fields, stacking it and covering it with ginormous tarps.
I haven't noticed my cats paying much attention to the ladder....of course, as soon as I publish this comment, there will be a huge crash.... :)

BG - I'm glad someone said it! :)
Oh, yes, that spinach bread went over very well. It's wonderful toasted, too, and spread with a little Laughing Cow Cheese. Mmmmm - I'll be whipping up more soon!
I'll try the pesto and poached egg next time.

Missicat - Aren't humans put on this earth to cater to cats? To them, we are just warm furniture and suppliers-of-food. :)

And I've read a lot about that thing called life, too.... and it was certainly going on around here this weekend! Not complaining, mind you!

Why oh why did I throw that old ladder out????

PRETTY!

Living is good:)

ex-S - there are advantages to being a pack-rat such as I...

Sagan - yup, living IS good!

I think that ladder is too rickety for even the cats to trust - your plants are safe! Try Creeping Charlie on the top next summer, it will trail all the way to the ground and is a pretty variegated leaf.

You're so creative. I'm with MizFit! clink clink coffee cup! Have a wonderful day!

I have had my ladder outside on the patio with plants on it for four years with three cats - and no climbing mishaps!
but, the rungs are completed covered with plants and have an old minature rake and cultivator hanging on each side so not much room for kitty footholds.

very pretty! Honestly, I don't see when you have time for blogging....you put me to shame!

I bet all that haying was one hay-of-a-workout! :)

the Bag Lady said...

Reb - actually, we used that ladder in the barn not that long ago.... which is why that light fixture is now hanging down by the wires! :)

Maggie - I'd love to take credit for this one, but I can't, 'cause I stole the idea from the Cowboy's cousin (who wrote the comment directly beneath yours!! :))

Hi, cuzzie! Thanks for the idea! Next year I'm going to add some more pots and try to make mine as pretty as yours!

new*me - Ha - you can't fool me - I don't know how you do it! I don't have 4 little kids clamouring for my attention like you do!

Workout Mommy - the actual cutting and baling of the hay isn't so much of a work out, but the fixing of the equipment certainly is!! One hay of a workout. LOL!
