He stayed perfectly still until the Bag Lady took his picture, then started chattering and ran in the little hole he has chewed through the wall so he can get at the oats inside.One of his favourite games is called "Drive the Princess Crazy". He chatters at her until he gets her attention, then runs away and hides. The Princess responds by running around the granary, barking. Of course, by the time the Princess gets around to where she thought the squirrel went, he is hiding inside, laughing his little butt off.
Poor Princess.
Poor squirrel if she ever catches him...

Hurray, a sign that winter is really over! I saw a few Canadian geese the other day and I got SO excited. I love seeing a bunch of animals venturing out of their homes again in the spring.

I had to laugh. I have a magnet on the fridge that says "Support Squirrel Patrol." My patrollers, a Dachshund mix and a Lab mix, haven't ever, technically CAUGHT a squirrel, but they're convinced they keep us safe by scaring the little marauders up the trees!
Sagan - the geese are here, too. No robins yet, though. It did get to +19C in spite of the clouds.

Amy - the Princess keeps us safe from all intruders in her yard - deer, squirrels; even birds flying through her air-space get chased and barked at until they are out of sight!
The Bag Lady needs a magnet like that!

Great picture! I have been seeing robins for a couple of weeks now - love to see them hopping around out in the yard. A couple of times I have seen one perched on the fence, but by the time I grab the camera they always fly away.
Javachick - still no robins here, but the Bag Lady is keeping watch!
The squirrels would be quite safe at our house. Our cat is such a timid huntress she runs away from ants.
Truly--ants freak her out and she takes off whenever she sees them.
Crabby - that's too funny! I always know when there's a spider/ant/bug on the living room floor because one or the other of the creatures will be sniffing at it, following it's progress across the floor!
