Finally!

The Bag Lady can do laundry again!

She picked up the part for her washing machine on Tuesday afternoon and called the repair company to set up an appointment. They told her the repairman would call her on Thursday morning between 9 am and noon to advise her when he would be coming to her house.

Naturally, as soon as the clock struck 9 am, her phone started ringing..... and did not stop! Between friends and relations and ranch business and museum business, and even a fax (which uses the same phone line), her phone was busy until 11:30!! Fortunately, the repairman was persistent and he eventually got through.

He arrived on her doorstep a short time later and immediately went to work replacing the latch. Then, because the door still didn't seem to be closing properly, he replaced the hinge. Voila, the door closes perfectly, and latches properly. The hinge was slightly bent, causing the door to close improperly.

The Bag Lady waited over 48 days for a 20-minute appointment, but she can finally do laundry to her heart's content.

In other news, the Bag Lady purchased a camera for the museum, so spent a little time on Wednesday getting acquainted with it. She took this photo of her yard:

When she awoke on Thursday morning, her yard looked like this:

The Bag Lady thinks the camera takes pretty good pictures, and is impressed because when you click to enlarge these pictures, they aren't grainy. (go ahead, click. she'll wait.)

Hope you all have a great weekend and aren't missing her too much! She'll pop back in soon.

Laundry! Yay!
Looks like you had a fair dump of snow.
You're right about the camera. It seems pretty good.

dfLeah - who'dathunk I'd ever get excited about doing laundry!!
I think the camera is going to be fine for the museum.

Our snow is finally melted..whew! Supposed to actually be NICE this weekend - 70+ degrees (American degrees of course!)
Can I bring by my laundry?

Hurray!!! So glad the wait is over! Laundry is not my favorite chore but it's way worse if it has to pile up. Love the pictures, too. (Now stop by and pick up your badge, Lady B.)

Missicat - we have had such mild weather the past while that the cold and snow is a bit of a shock!

Cheryl - thanks! (And I would pick up my badge..... if only I could figure out how!)

Doing the happy laundry dance here!

The camera is most excellent. : )

I suspect winter is hurrying to catch up before spring shoves it off the stage.

Yay for clean clothes! Crazy you had to wait so long, but all's well that ends well, I guess.

48 days is Waaaaaaay too long!! But I'm glad it is finally fixed!

I'd almost forgotten how pretty a fresh dumping of snow can be...
Despite our lovely 70F degree weather these past few days, I can still find some along the side of the roads where there were 3-meter tall drifts.
And you're right -- no grain in those pictures! What kind of camera is it?

Mary Anne in Kentucky - it's been so crazy busy around here, I haven't had time to tackle the laundry! Today will be laundry day. For sure.

BG - true. I'm just so glad the machine works again!

kcinnova - it's a Nikon Coolpix L21. They are fairly new on the market, and it was reasonably priced. I haven't done much with it yet, but so far I quite like it.

Hallelujah! And it's about time! (For them to get their act together, I mean.)

Yes, the camera does take good, ungrainy (is that a word?) pics.

Messymimi - I am very happy indeed! (never thought I'd say that I was happy about doing laundry - just goes to show!)

I'm so glad you waited while I clicked. They're fine photos but darn that snow! No matter.. seems you probably have a lot of laundry to do anyway. I'm glad the repairs are done. :)

Nice camera! If the "repair" man had come out in the first place, he may have noticed it was the hinge and been able to replace it and been done, I hope you pointed that out to him? Or at least write a letter to the company about it.

So, are you going to go buy one of those cameras for yourself?

Hilary - I'm glad, too. It's amazing how much we rely on our "modern" appliances!

Reb - I was tempted to buy one of those cameras for myself, but got the evil eye from hubby when I brought the subject up. His comment? "Do you REALLY need another camera?" err.... no.
Sigh. (But, after all, it's a digital, and it will be in my possession a lot of the time... *grin*)
