Scarcely Worth the Effort

The Bag Lady hasn't had anything much of interest going on this week, and has been casting about for something to blog about.

She's had a couple of treatments on her back, and has herself convinced that the feeling is coming back in her foot..... sorta/kinda/some of the time. She spends an inordinate amount of time trying to make her toes obey her command to "Rise, dammit, rise!" and sometimes thinks she gets a tiny little response (but it might just be wishful thinking); most of the time the little monsters just lie there, staring mutely up at her, feigning indifference. Be assured, she has not given up this fight, and is determined to force them to bend to her will (or at her command, or something. But bend they will, the little bastards!)

(Warned you - nothing much going on around here worthy of a blog post - she is reduced to discussing her partially paralyzed digits!)

The Bag Lady can't even complain about the weather.... well, she could, because the freezing rain has caused a few problems, but compared to what's going on elsewhere, a little rain is rather minor, isn't it?

She thinks she had best just let y'all get on with your day, and hopes you have something interesting happen to counter this, probably the most boring blog post of all time!

Good to know you're getting better. It's probably a blessing that there's not too much interesting going on with you right now.

"Rise, dammit, rise!" is a good title for a blog post -- at least for you. I've had an upset stomach, so it is NOT a good one for me!
Keep on with the positive thinking. You'll convince those toes yet.

I hope you can convince your toes to cooperate soon.
I have to say, I too will take a whole lot of nothing in particular when you think of what else could be going on. I'm rather liking the peaceful nothing in particular at the moment...it's been a while :)

Miz - I agree - I have to admit, I am enjoying my pleasantly peaceful little life!

dfLeah - that is too true - nothing earth-shaking going on here, which is fine by me!

kcinnova - oh, dear - hope you feel better soon!

Geo - we all need quiet time, and I hope things are settling down for you now!

Well, I am here in warm ans sunny Florida and--I have a cold.

I'd rather have the freezing rain and no cold.

Get those toes a wiggling.

I'm feeling grateful for the lack of excitement. I hope you keep improving.. and quickly.

dfTerrie - has Florida gone back to being sunny and warm? Whew. Hope you get over your cold soon!

Hilary - thanks! Things quiet for you, too?

I don't know...I'd probably be quite upset if my toes weren't cooperating. Yes, there are worse problems, but it would still be upsetting/frustrating. Hope things get better soon!

I believe in you! Hehe.

That pastry you had for dinner the other night looks TASTY.

JavaChick - it IS frustrating, annoying and upsetting, but I keep telling myself life is good - it could be so much worse! I'm embarrassed to whine about my minor problems in light of the disaster in Haiti!

Sagan - thanks! I appreciate your vote of confidence! And yes, that supper was wonderful! :)

You know the funniest thing I've read lately is that comment you wrote on my blogpost. Just don't lose your sense of humor. Don't let it go to the dogs. The only way out is through. Keep one foot in front of the other, when you are actually able to function.

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, POD. (Ummm.... which comment? ALL my comments are funny, aren't they? *snicker*)

I'll take boring over earth-shaking any day. Hope you get feeling back soon.

Thanks, sis. I'm with you on that one. The only time the earth should move is...... oh, wait. Never mind.

May you heal up soon, and be treated to an early spring.

I don't find you at all boring, by the way.

Well, if your feet are just going to sit there and do nothing (huff!) they might as well look pretty!! Give your toes a pedicure. :>)

I hope you're up dancing again soon. Cheers and have a great weekend. ~ Conny

Messymimi - aw, shucks, thanks! (And I sure hope you're right about the early spring.... somehow, this winter has seemed really long!)

Conny - great idea! (the pedicure, I mean!) I think the dancing will have to wait a week or two!

Good luck with your little piggies, BL! Sometimes boring is indeed a blessing.

Thanks, Clare! Boredom is indeed a blessing, occasionally!

So sorry the back thing is being so stubborn. If I couldn't move my toes I'd write a 10,000 word blog post complaining about it!

Good thing we don't all lead boring lives, isn't it? I can barely contain myself for all the excitement here, but I think we almost concluded I live in the right place and you don't?

And I don't think there is anything wrong with squabbling on a third blog. People want comments, don't they?

the Bag Lady said...

Crabby - I would dearly love to whine about my immobile toes, believe me! And if they don't smarten up and start obeying me soon, you can bet I'll be writing that blog post!

Bookwitch - you only came here to brag, didn't you!? LOL

It was totally worth the effort...you made me laugh, as usual. And I needed a laugh.

I just wish I could make your pain go away, dang it.
