Busy Monday

The Bag Lady spent a busy day around the house, cleaning and tidying her sun porch, which should actually be called the cat house. Both of the Bag Lady's cats spend a great deal of time sleeping in the sun porch.... and there was a ton of cat hair everywhere to prove that fact! The vacuum cleaner got quite a work out. The floor is washed but the Bag Lady has a small mountain of laundry to do before she can put the room back together again. She is too exhausted to tackle the windows ..... all 38 of them will have to wait until tomorrow. Well, maybe she'll break out the vinegar and do a few tonight.

Here are some more pictures from the Bag Lady's sojourns to the pasture:

The wild roses are blooming everywhere - even on the barbed wire fences. The Bag Lady has no idea what the other plant is called, but she thought the two of them looked pretty together.

The bush between the yard and the pasture is loaded with wild roses

There is an abundance of these little white flowers close to the corral. The Bag Lady has no idea what they are, either. She's not exactly a fount of information today, is she?

Even without being a fount of information, you still managed to post on your blog and upload pictures, too!
The wild roses are beautiful.

Thanks, kcinnova. I'm hoping my cousin will be able to identify the plants that I'm not sure about!

I knew you'd be relying on Leah! ;)

There's something interesting about roses growing along barbed wire - each with their own thorns.

Lovely shots. :)

Thanks, Hilary! And yes, I'm hoping Leah will be able to help me out here!

Well, I'm no help, I rely on Leah as well. But they are lovely photos.

Beautiful!

And if I wanted a fount of information, I'd go to wikipedia! I'd rather have pretty pictures, amusing stories, and a fount of fun.

38 windows??? I want to see a pic of that sun porch! And when the kitty's are done with it, may I move in?

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Reb - even though I don't know what they are, they were pretty!

Miz - hopefully, cousin Leah will be able to find out what they are.

Crabby - thanks! I've always figured; if ya can't be smart, at least be amusing!! :)

Cousin - I'm looking forward to hearing what you can find out.

Lucas - there is (naturally) a story behind the 38 windows (and 4 skylights) which I may post about when it's finally clean and photo-worthy. Not sure you'd want to live there, though. It's hot as hades in the summer and just as cold as outside in the winter!

Yellow = Bracketed Honeysuckle

White = remains a mystery. Can you send me a pic of it? Have you got one that shows the leaves and as much of the plant as possible?

I love those little white flowers. They're in our back yard too and I have no idea what they are-pretty though :)

dfLeah - thanks - I'll see if I have a better picture

Geo - they are pretty, aren't they? And we may soon know what they are!!

The yellow ones look like honey suckle to me...No clue on the white ones. Pretty photos though!

I think they are called "Little White Flowers".
No need to thank me!
May need to send my kitties to your place for a vacation!

the Bag Lady said...

Javachick - thanks! Hopefully, cousin Leah's hubby will figure out what the white ones are!

Missicat - oh, THAT's what they are! :)
Yes, my sunporch would make a fine kitty vacation destination!

Are those white ones some kind of little miniature daisy, perhaps? I think I've seen a daisy that bore some kind of resemblance (insofar as it had petals and leaves. That's about as far as my plant knowledge goes ;)).

The roses are gorgeous!

I love the roses. It's so nice that you enjoy your land and its beauty!

Thanks for the gorgeous photos. All I see from my balcony is the leaves of trees and the Red Mile rooftops.

Interested in a cleaning "tip"...from the professional...Should professional be in quotation marks too?

I use sunlight dish detergent and a microfibre cloth. The sunlight cuts the grease, dirt, grime, etc. and with a clean microfibre to dry them, they come up great. My hubby also bought a lambs wool and squeegee from Home Depot for less than $30. I pay over $100 for a larger commercial size set for our people.

Whatever you do, don't use windex or other commercial window cleaner. It leaves a film.

I buy all the cloths for our cleaning biz in the automotive section of Canadian Tire or Wal-Mart. Dollar store microfibre is okay too. Not great, but okay. Expect to pay about $2 per cloth for good ones.
Don't get me started on Norwex...

For us city dwellers, if you really want to get into it, using a razor blade will ensure the windows stay cleaner longer. Apparently there is no smog for the new dirt to stick to as easily. But only use the razor going one direction and wipe it clean after each stroke or you will drag minute debris under the blade and scratch up your glass.

Or, better yet, give them a swipe and go sit on your deck with a cold beer.
Summer is too short for all this nonsense.

Sagan - I'm really not sure what they are - I hope Leah's husband can identify them!

Aleta - thanks. The bushes smell divine right now with all those roses in bloom!

Lil Nana - Thanks for the tips - I will have to try the dishsoap and microfibre cloth! But my very favourite is the last one! :)

In fact.....kchizzzzzz.... that was the sound of a cap being twisted off!

the Bag Lady said...

Hi, cuzzie! I wish they were wild strawberries - there are enough there I could make jam!! But I'm pretty sure they aren't strawberries. I have my cousin's hubby on the job (he's a botanist) so hopefully, he'll be able to identify them for us!

Glad to hear the tap turned off. Now, let's hear the sound of a bottle cap twisting off.
