Life's Mysteries

A few things the Bag Lady has wondered recently:

Why does a cat who spent the entire night outside go immediately to the litter box (situated in the office) when he comes into the house? And smells up the entire room. And then wants to be let back outside.

Why does Firefox crash whenever a brilliant idea presents itself, then refuses to come back online until your frustration causes you to forget whatever the hell you were planning to post about, in it's entirety, complete with amusing anecdotes?

Why is the song from a commercial on TV looping endlessly through her head, when she doesn't even watch television?

Why can't she remember the other thing she was wondering about?

Sigh.

Kitty is too well-trained. Or has a warped sense of humour.
Firefox, like anything else computer-related, hates us.
The jingle is part of an evil plot by... oh... oh dang...

Theo doesn't go outside, but when we clean out his kitty litter... WITHOUT FAIL he is in there seconds later taking a massive smelly dump.

He's such a jerk!

dfLeah - I'm pretty sure it's kitty's way of paying me back for bringing that dog and that other cat into the house!

Christine - oh yeah, my old cat does that too - it's like he's just been waiting for a clean place to go!

It's not Firefox, it's blogger. It ate a long comment I made about the bug yesterday, of which I can remember...nothing.

Kitty litter is so much more fun to cover up with than real dirt.

Mary Anne in Kentucky - it happens to you, too? When Blogger does that to me, I usually give up in frustration. It's never as witty the second time around.

And you might be onto something as far as the kitty litter being more fun to cover up with. Well, that and the linoleum - he spends an inordinate amount of time outside the littler box, scraping the lino in a futile attempt to cover with it. Hey, he's old, and I think he has feline senility. He's a senile feline. (try saying that three times really fast!)

I agree with Solarity - firefox and blogger tend to have crashy interactions. It happens to me a lot too...

I think your kitty is just really well trained. :)

Cats are crazy. I don't know why anyone would want one. I absolutely would never want one... they're much more fun in pairs. ;)

My guys do exactly what Christine described. They are indeed jerks. :)

df Bag Lady,

I know nothing about cats or any animals other than what I learn here from you.

As to life's other mysteries: Leah's right about the jingle, mary Anne is right about blogger and I can't remember why you can't remember the other thing.

My parents have always had outdoor cats (no litter box) so they find it quite funny that mine come in to use the litter box. Guess it's all what you're used to.

Gotta admit, it would be nice to not have to deal with a litter box. However, with the cat-fenced yard, my cats have limited roaming space and would probably decide to use my gardens as a litter box which I can do without...

:)

I'm thinking it's much more comfortable for kitty to go inside. It's when you're trying to sleep at night that those tunes drive me nuts, no matter what I try to think about to fend them off. It's just Murphy's Law!

He just wants company when he craps. It makes him feel safer? At least firefox is not part of the MS conspiracy - which means it doesn't crash as often ;) I have had "Flowers on the Wall" in my head for over a week since Ben posted the video!

Geo - I find the worst crashes happen with Firefox and facebook. Sigh.

Hilary - They are more fun in pairs. Unless they don't get along very well. Mine have disagreements all the time, but end up sleeping close together!

dfTerrie - thanks for clearing that up for me! :)

JavaChick - my older cat didn't use a litter box for a very long time, but he is the one who uses it the most now. Go figure.

Redbush - ah, yes, Murphy's Law! The law that rules my life. :)

Reb - Gee, thanks. At least "Flowers on the Wall" is a change from "Don't, don't you want me?" :)

My cat has been known to do the same. Normally, what I notice is that she asks to be let in from outside and heads straight to her scratching post. Often she will ignore her food and water and go straight to the door again, to return to her play.
Wasn't the tree good enough for her?!?

Oh, after reading the other comments, I now understand my cat and her litter box.
I don't want to use a dirty bathroom either!

the Bag Lady said...

kcinnova - my cats both shake their feet BEFORE they go outside.

The younger cat just followed me when I went out to the pasture to check cows. He fell into a mud puddle. You should have heard him howl!
Now he wants to come in and sit in my lap.
Hahahahahaha

I have the same problem with TV themes! I haven't watched TV in two years and yet I still get the theme song to Friends stuck in my head on a regular basis...

the Bag Lady said...

Charlotte - drives ya crazy, doesn't it? The Rancher watches TV, so I can hear it in the other room. I watch it occasionally, too, but not often.

oh,oh,oh- the litter box question: We have discovered that kitties want to share their bowel movements with you! Just like the bring you dead offerings to show what good little hunters they are!

However, I am lucky in that only 1 cat is like that. Our older cat will actually "hold it" most nights until she can go out the next morning.

But yeah, cats can totally suck for doing that!

the Bag Lady said...

Aha! I know a few humans who feel compelled to share more than I ever wanted to know about their bodily functions, too. Well, actually, only one human, but that is one too many, in my estimation!

Great musings.

No response here. Nothing witty, anyway.
