Catching Up

Holy crap - how did it get to be Thursday?
Where did Wednesday go?
Oh, wait - that was the day the Bag Lady spent watching the snow melt!

She has a couple of days off from taking care of the Rancher's uncle - he went to visit the Rancher's mother. He'll be back in a few days, but in the meantime, the Bag Lady will do some much-needed housework and paperwork and running around. Shopping and making phone calls and doing all the things she has neglected over the past week like long, leisurely baths, having friends over for a few beers.... paying bills and weeding the flowerbeds.

The cows made it through the snow storm without having any calves, fortunately. The weather is much more pleasant now, and the forecast is for more improvement. Perhaps summer will arrive after all!

She also has a new project on the go, but isn't quite done with it. When she finishes, she'll post some pictures for you.

Oh, and one more thing -- Peanut butter. Crunchy or Smooth?

I prefer crunchy, but the Rancher likes smooth, so I have both in my house.

Smooth...tho I'm more of a tahini person myself.

I don't eat much peanut butter, but crunchy, and it has to be natural and not hydrogenated. ScottieDog always buys smooth and hydrogenated. He is the absolute worst at eating junk.

CRUNCHY!!!!!!!! And all natural, just peanuts and salt, yum!!!

And thank our dear Mother Nature that those calves stayed all tucked in during the snow storm. They sound like smart little cows. :)

I can eat either kind, crunchy and smooth but it has to be organic. My favorite brand is Maranatha. Next time ask which brands. (haha)

Glad you are back. I think the uncle needs to stay at Mom's.

Geo - I have never tried tahini - must remember to pick some up.

Melissa - I don't eat much either, anymore, but the Rancher eats a lot of it!

Lucas - yes, we have smart cows. Well, as cows go, that is!

POD - I've never tried that brand! Good old Kraft is what the Rancher likes.
Uncle will stay at Mother's for a few days, just to give him a change of scenery! He'll be back here eventually, though.

Glad the cows are okay.

I didn't see this earlier. Sorry.

Either or on the peanut butter although I stick to the stuff that's just ground nuts. Get used to that and the commercial stuff is....unmentionable.

Crunchy of course!

dfLeah - I have made my own peanut butter, and it's really good!

Reb - I was pretty sure you were a crunchy fan!

Choosy mothers choose Jif!
We go through a ton of peanut butter (possibly literally!) and it's usually smooth since one of my guys doesn't like crunchy.

Yes, I know I'm in the minority here with my unhealthy PB. I'd love a good homemade version but it's just too darned expensive at the amount we go through. My favorite is Peter Pan (one of the healthier non-healthy ones out there).

Crunchy! But I vote for almond butter.

And can't wait to see/hear more about your project!

It depends on the application. We typically go with a store brand organic. We go through a lot because if I catch the kids aimlessly grazing in the pantry I make 'em eat a few spoons of pb because they are obviously hungry and need protein. I wonder if I could just mix powdered pb with jelly and call it a sandwich?

Smooth. (If I want crunch I'll eat the peanuts.) And nothing in it but peanuts and salt. (I've tried unsalted, and, just like unsalted butter, it's not for me. I use very little salt, but those two must have it.)
