It's Monday ?

The Bag Lady had a wild and crazy weekend.

Well, okay, maybe not. She wishes she had, because it would be fodder for blogging....

The Rancher is finished working. For awhile, anyway. This makes the Bag Lady happy because she is hopeful that he'll be home to help with calving season. Of course, things change and he may get called back to work before then, but for now it's looking as though he will be home. This has necessitated some changes in the Bag Lady's life. She actually has to cook occasionally. But she no longer has to make sandwiches for the Rancher to take with him to work. The Bag Lady has made in the neighbourhood of 750 sandwiches over the last 8 months. The Bag Lady hates making sandwiches almost as much as the Rancher hates having to eat them!

The Bag Lady and the Rancher ventured into town on the weekend. Together. At night! They attended a surprise birthday party for one of their very good friends who was celebrating a milestone birthday. It was a success in that she was surprised! There were a good number of friends and relatives in attendance, and none of us had let anything slip.

Other than that, the Bag Lady hasn't much else to share with you. How was your weekend?

GAAAHHH!!! It's snowing here like mad.

So to answer your actual question, my weekend was calm and productive but today and possibly several days to come are going to be the pits in terms of winter misery.

I had one rehearsal cancelled this morning, and I'm waiting to hear about the one in the afternoon. I SOOO hope I don't have to slog into the city in that stupid puffy coat again....

It seems so sad about the sandwiches. I am awfully fond of them myself.
My weekend? Did some writing. Made a new hypnosis tape. Made date squares with added raisins and apricots. Had really good intentions of getting outside for walkies. Didn't do it.

Lol! I make BF's lunch everyday (mostly cuz I'm making my own anyways, and it takes an every 30 seconds to make his while I'm there) and he always gets a sandwich! I've actually tried to give him leftovers and other, more creative meals, but he doesn't want them!! He's sick of sandwiches, but anything else is just too complicated he says!

Calving season again? Already? Time sure flies...Sounds like a fun weekend Bag Lady. Ours was pretty quiet, which was ok with me. Wouldn't have minded another day or two off, but what can you do?

My weekend was horrible. My weight went the wrong way. I'm sick. I'm miserable. And I wish to anything, MELISSA, that you'd send some snow this way! Denver has barely gotten any this "Winter" and it just doesn't seem like it's March. Where was Dec, JAn and Feb? Vee at www.veegettinghealthy.blogspot.com

Weekends are always so-so around here. I did get to drink a glass of wine with a friend on Saturday evening.
Today is a "snow day" for the kids, compliments of the big storm that hit the east coast. That is both a blessing and a curse.
My dh likes to have leftovers packed in his lunches.

I'm glad you had a nice weekend...sounds like the birthday party was a lot of fun.
My husband loves wrap sandwiches, which I find funny. AND he gets excited about egg salad. Loony I know. He's just happy to get whatever I put in his lunchbox, altho I will admit it actually helps me make a healthier lunch for me when I have to pack lunches for both of us. (I still refuse to get excited over egg salad tho...)

Melissa - sorry to hear that winter has struck again, but glad you had a productive weekend!

dfLeah - I like sandwiches, too, but hubby gets so tired of them. Plus he doesn't care for a lot of the things I would put in my own sandwiches. (I was the kid who took the same sandwich every day for a whole year in kindergarten...)

Sarah - sounds like your hubby is the same as mine! He never wants anything he can't eat with one hand (mostly because he's always so busy, he has to rest it on his knee while he works!)

JavaChick - I know, I can't believe it either. Although we are calving a lot earlier this year than last....

Vee - I'm sorry you had a miserable weekend! My weight didn't go down, but it didn't go up, either, so I guess that's a good thing.

kcinnova - my hubby doesn't like leftovers. Well, except for turkey, or roast meat that can be made into sandwiches.

Geo - I love egg salad!! The Man in Black will eat it, but doesn't get excited about it. And he doesn't like wraps. Sigh.

My weekend was the same as always, work, work, work. Being month end I actually had stuff to do.

Glad you two got a chance to go to a party and have some fun.

Thanks, sis! It was a nice change to get out and about! The party was fun!

Getting sick of sandwiches? Hmm... I fail to see how that is possible... ;)

Surprise birthdays are so much fun! I was socializing lots this weekend, which was enjoyable, except that I didn't get a bunch of work done that I was supposed to... ah well, gotta live!

Miz - a lovely shade of purple? Not on my computer.... although I do like purple!

Sagan - the same few types of sandwiches over and over get a little boring. The Rancher has very specific tastes and I don't dare give him something experimental because when he's out in the bush far from civilization, he'd get awfully hungry if he didn't like what I gave him. (I only do that on the days he REALLY pisses me off!! Hahahaha)

What a coincidence! Just recently, a special friend and my sister managed to pull off a surprise birthday party for me on a milestone birthday. I know that my special friend had a lot to do with the secretiveness of the event as well as the nasty embarrassments of making signs for me to wear, and a picture that she put together of me showing myself in compromising positions! My sister is sneaky and has a nasty personality when pulling stunts herself if she thinks her sister isn't suspecting of it. Now, I must say, I suspected my sister would pull something off, but, my special friend is very good at not letting me know, even in her voice on the phone a few daysbefore, that anything was happening. I must say, my guard was down when it happened. Oh, but, revenge is sweet!

That IS a coincidence, Redbush!! :)

Hope you enjoyed your milestone birthday party, and that the payback involves your sneaky sister, and not your ever-so-innocent friend!!

birthday party and sandwiches ;)

Fun ;) I had a peaceful weekend....stayed in pjs most of the cold and snowy Saturday ;)

I was going to ask if you hated making sandwiches more than you hated washing wide-mouthed thermoses, but I guess it's not possible to eat soup one handed. Hot food in cold weather, though, is reviving.
Sunday I toasted myself by the fire reading except when I was walking down the hill to check on the daffodils.

Mary Anne in Kentucky, toasting herself again

Annette - I love pj days! So relaxing!!

Toasty Mary Anne in Kentucky - I am going to toast myself by the woodstove tonight, too. Some days just call for it!

It's too freakin' cold here to do anything interesting except shiver. I'm ready for spring. Right now!

I'm glad the two of you had fun together though. :)

the Bag Lady said...

Hilary - I'm sorry to hear that it's so cold there. I can certainly relate to the longing for spring. Soon.
The sooner, the better.

While I don't mind a bit eating a sandwich someone else has made, I loathe making them myself. Of course, I feel that way about cooking in general you understand.

But my weekend was very exciting. We had an actual snowstorm with enough snow to make a snowman and have snow cream and everything! That's the second time since I've been married to BillDear (July, 1997) that we've had enough of the white stuff to do that! And I was cold and whiny enough to realize that if I lived in your part of the world, I'd be a sniveling mess!

Amy - I'm glad you had a taste of winter... and that now you know why I'm a sniveling mess most of the time!
Snow cream?

Did I hear someone say the BL has to cook occasionally? That is not right that BL should have to spend valuable time on everyday activities that she could be spending on blogging, taking photos, making vids, and entertaining Pouty.
