Here is a tiny little video clip of a Downy Woodpecker having a treat at the Bag Lady's birdfeeder. He was actually there for quite awhile, and the Bag Lady took a lot of little videos, but she thought he looked kinda funny in this one! (Don't blink - it's even shorter than she remembered...!)
She had a very busy week last week, and a busy weekend as well, so she's a little played out, but in a good way. She has quite a lot on her plate for the coming week, too! Cattle to round up, painting to touch up, paperwork to catch up, housework to make up....

I like those busy weeks sometimes - well, the sense of accomplishment afterwards anyway!
Aw he's a cutie! He looks big, or were you just close up to him?
TA x
laughed at the dont blink.
NOT AT THE BUSY WEEK :(
duly noted NOT to bug the BL...
Nice one. I have this urge to hold and smooch and ruffle the feathers of downy woodpeckers. They're so danged cute.
How cute! Have a busy week myself, but no cattle to round up. I feel deprived!
TA - the Downy woodpeckers are about 6 inches long. The Hairy woodpeckers (look the same) are about 9 inches long. Not sure now which this one was.
And she just wishes she had time to sit and enjoy that sense of accomplishment.... sigh.
Miz - the Bag Lady feels much better this morning....she finally got some rest last night (meaning, she slept more than 5 hours).
dfLeah - I know what you mean - I get that same urge. We have a chickadee around here who has a little fluffy thing happening out one side of his head and I want to smooth it down every time I see him!
Missicat - you can come help with the round-up any time you want!
Hope you have a bit of time to relax, despite all the working.
Don't work too hard :)
Geo - basically took the day off yesterday (after we pushed a 1000-lb bale out of the back of the truck...) and feel much better today! Actually slept last night. Yahoo!
Aw. Poor guy doesn't realize that won't get him very far. :)
Tink - you said it!
Aw!! Little birdies!!! You can't put up too many video clips of cute birds as far as I'm concerned.
Living up on the 12th floor I hardly ever see birds any more up close. Well, except for pigeons, which walk around inside the GW Bridge Bus Terminal as if they owned the place.
Don't see many pigeons around here. One of the neighbours used to race pigeons, but I'm not sure if he's doing that anymore.
Can we trade lives?
love2befit - only if I get to have your body!!!!
I love woodpeckers! They have so much personality. :)
SB - they certainly do! They cling to the post beside the feeder, pick a sunflower seed, stick it in a crack in the post and hammer away at it! Or they hang from the feeder like this guy did and fling the seeds all over the place until they find one they think is suitable!
we have feeders in our yard too. The family loves birds.....especially watching them in the winter. Right now we have so many hummingbirds at the feeder outside my kitchen window..makes doing dishes a little nicer when you can see a cute sight like that!
new*me - the hummingbirds must be on their migration south - haven't seen any around here for a few weeks now!
I love watching the birds, too...especially in winter, so I keep my feeders full.
Aww Downy WP are adorable. Did I miss photos of the new paint job?
You laughed at him, that's why he flew away! Cute video Sis.
I miss having a bird feeder, it's so much fun to watch the birds. But my cats are kind of ferocious, so best not to have one.
Hilary - no, I haven't posted them yet - still have a few things left to finish. Soon, I promise.
Reb - do you think he heard me? I was inside....
Javachick - The birds are so accustomed to being fed here, I can't take the feeders down!
