It's Wednesday Already?

Oooh, ouch. Aww. Eee. Geez!

Bag Lady is still paining, err, painting. Time for the second coat today. Should go a wee bit faster than the first coat - all the taping and preparation work is already done. All that climbing up and down ladders and contorting herself to reach into cramped spaces and crawling around on her knees to get at stuff close to the floor has certainly reminded her how out of shape she is! But her mother-in-law is pleased with the colour, and her sister-in-law is there suffering right along with her helping, too. At least the cooler weather has made the job a little more pleasant.

And it is going to make quite a change in the house! When it is all finished, the Bag Lady will post some photos for you.... probably by the end of the week.

In the meantime, she doesn't have much else to share with you. Unless, of course, you'd like to volunteer to come and clean her house for her....No? Shoot. She'd really be willing to share that with someone...

She will work really hard at coming up with an intelligent, witty post sometime soon. That would make a nice change, wouldn't it?

Always fun to find out what's up at the Bag Lady's, and you're always clever and witty just being yourself!

(But, um, I'll pass on the housecleaning--sounds like a chore, ick!)

Alas Bag Lady, I have enough trouble getting my own cleaning done. Really wish I had inherited my Mom's housecleaning gene. Her house is always spotless. Don't know how she does it. And I grew up there. Sigh.

Miz - Judging from the way your kitchen always looks in your video clips, my house would look fabulous! Come on up!

Crabby - well, if Miz comes and cleans, you can just come and hang out - we'd all have a blast together!

Javachick - I wish I had inherited my mother's clean-gene, too! You could eat off her floor...mine? Not so much, unless you're a dog, then you'd find lots to snarf up! Of course, the dog and cats are part of the problem. They never seem to respect the fact that I just washed the floor (every 6 months or so, when that actually happens! :))

My old dog, who died last fall, kept my kitchen floor spotless for the ten years he lived with me. He even washed the lower cabinet doors. My younger dog only spot cleans. Sorry I can't ship him up there. He's a blue heeler--Will Clean for Cows to Chase

Glad the weather broke for your painting. As for cleaning, I barely do my own.

Mary Anne - my old dog, a golden retriever, kept the floors pretty clean, too, along with anyone's bare feet he could get his tongue on!!
This young one - same as yours - only spot cleans and never does feet! This damned younger generation!!

dfLeah - Thanks - it was so much more pleasant painting in the cooler temps!!

Can you at least give us a hint as to the color?

the Bag Lady said...

SB - the colour is called something stupid (Candy Something or other) that has no relation to what it looks like. (hint: it's not black, green, purple, yellow or blue)

It's dramatically different from the off-white she lived with for 23 years!

Housecleaning? I think I have heard of this notion...hmmmm...
Will send Bad Cat. He will be amusing if nothing else.

the Bag Lady said...

Missicat - amusing is always good!! Thanks for the offer...but aren't you afraid Bad Cat will learn some bad habits from the country cats?!
(mouse- and bird-eating comes immediately to mind!)

Missicat said...

BG - wonder if Bad Cat would recognize a mouse....probably want to make friends with it. hmmm...maybe I should send him up for some cat lessons from the country cats! Or he may teach yours to be lazy..last week he plopped down in the kitchen near his food dish and just looked at me. I actually moved his dish so he wouldn't have to get up. He has me trained, doesn't he?

df Bag Lady,

Another inspirational post!! Do you think I could get my daughter and daughter in law to paint my apartment?? Oh, darn that's right, they come with assorted children. I'll have to wait a few more years!

Sounds like your mother in law's place is in the pink.. at least that's how I'd interpret "Candy Something or other." ;) Looking forward to seeing before and after. :)

Our weather finally broke too! I guess that means I should do something productive. I'll be up to help you clean, right after I've cleaned up here. ;) Um, don't hold your breath!

I'm with hilary - I'm guessing pink!

Missicat - I hesitate to tell you how well-trained the humans are in this house! The Bag Lady gets plenty of exercise running to open doors for the 3 critters! (to say nothing of feeding, watering and supplying with treats...)

dfTerrie - maybe someday they'll bring the children and they can ALL paint! The more, the merrier!

Hilary - you're close.... I'm hoping to have photos tomorrow night to post on Friday.

Thanks, Mark.

Reb - thanks for the offer! When did you say you'd be arriving?

Geo - what? No photos from yours?! Is your camera broken?

Christine - sorta kinda. Not really. Like I say, hopefully we will have it photo-worthy by tomorrow night. Before the Bag Lady collapses.
