The Bag Lady had a lovely birthday party on the weekend. Many family and friends attended and showered her with gifts, cards and good wishes. The Cowboy took care of the meal, and did a very good job.
The Bag Lady had her very first ice cream cake. Please note: ice cream cake is perhaps NOT the best choice for 50 candles!!
Sure was easy to cut, though....

So glad it was a great day. (And ice cream always tastes best slightly melted anyway!)
Fer sure!
T'was a grand day, but now the Bag Lady needs to do something about the shape she's in, so she's hoping you have something inspirational (and dead easy!) on your blog today!!
Looks yummy. :) And glad you had a good one.
That's not an ashtray full of smokes, is it?
Hilary - what ashtray...? Actually, I counted - the ratio of smokers to non-smokers was about 2.5 to 1 - sheesh, healthy crew, eh? Took all the next day to get the house aired out...
Ice Cream Cake! What kind? You're sure not very forthcoming with the details - what did the Cowboy cook?
Sounds like you had fun anyway, that is all that counts!
Hi, Reb: the Cowboy supplied us with Kentucky Fried Chicken, but he made the macaroni salad 'cause homemade is always better (for his first attempt at macaroni salad, he did very well!). One neighbour brought sweet & sour meatballs, and we also had a veggie tray and a fruit tray.
The Ice Cream cake had white and chocolate ice cream and chocolate cookie crumbs (Oreo?) - it was damned good, even if the Bag Lady doesn't really know what it was called.
Nice cake! Happy Birthday!
mmmm...ice cream cake! I love cake! I actually resisted the call of some chocolate cupcakes today...they were singing to me in soft, sweet, chocolately voices, but I stayed strong! :-)
Thanks, Bunnygirl! (Didn't even need to use the flash to take that photo - the whole room was lit up...)
Missicat - good for you! The Bag Lady wishes she had stayed stronger - she gained 2 lbs. last week!
I'll spare you my singing the Birthday song (even virtual singing, pretty scary), but I'm glad you had a good day!
Wait -- isn't 50 the new 30? I'm sure I read that somewhere.
50 is the new 30?! Woohoo, the Bag Lady is middle-aged (again!)
Thanks, Mary - that feels so much better!
