The Bag Lady is feeling the crunch a bit. A couple years ago, she volunteered to be the curator of the new museum built in her little community. She
regretted it as soon as she sobered up had a pretty easy first year (because the museum had no artifacts), but items started trickling in, then the trickle grew to a full-bore flood and the Bag Lady fell behind in her accessioning. She finally found an assistant, and they have been working their butts off, accessioning items, setting up displays, organizing dioramas, restoring and cleaning (cleaning, cleaning), painting and repairing donated display cabinets..... and they have (perhaps foolishly) set a date for opening to the public. In a month. Actually, a month from yesterday. gulp.
So she is probably going to be even more absent from blogging than she has been (which sounds almost impossible, because she's been pretty scarce around here!) but she will try to pop in once in awhile to see if anyone is hanging around.
She will leave you with a photo to remember her by, though....
This is one of her neighbours with his mule team. Aren't they adorable?

You've done a great lot of work for the museum, Cousin. I know it'll be great.
Love the photo of the boraxes at work.
Please, please tell me you get that. Please.)
It took me a second, but yes, I get it.... wonder how many others will! (Of course, that's also totally dependent upon who is still reading my blog these days!)
I am sure the museum will be a hit. Good shot of the mules.
@ Leah...aren't you about 18 short?
Reb - thanks. (and LOL at your question for Leah!)
Boraxes -- they've changed their box a while back, updated the look, but still works just as well.;)
Bag Lady, thank you for preserving history in your area, and i hope visitors to the museum recognize your hard work and dedication.
messymimi - thanks! I am really enjoying the work, and learning a lot at the same time.
Shouldn't that be boraxen?
BL, do not let the museum swallow you up entirely, although I promise to come see it if I ever get that far north.

Mary Anne - it is difficult not to become consumed by the museum, but I am hoping that once we have it open to the public, I can relax a little!
(hahahahaha)
I've no doubt your museum will be as fabulous as the one in my future DIL's little town... not that I've written the blog post about it yet, it was "only" mid-March when I visited there!
Pleases thank you cousin for reminding me of what I needed to add to my shopping list this week!
*Please*
It's bad policy to comment while sleepy...
*YOUR cousin*
I'm going to quit now...
Thanks, Karen. Museums are supposed to make you slow down and appreciate things, aren't they? (that's why you are still pondering posting about something you saw in mid-March...)
Right?
Wow, the Museum sounds like it's going to be fantastic!
Sorry to be a few days late, but TOTALLY get the whole life-instead-of-blogging situation. I've taken blogslacking to whole new levels this year! Have fun getting ready for the opening.
Thanks, Crabby! I am sure hoping our little museum will be successful.
