Last year about this time, there was still so much snow on the ground that the deer were sneaking under the gate into the Bag Lady's hay storage area, looking for something to eat. She caught them red-hoofed one morning......
... and used the tractor to herd them toward the gate.

They didn't even have the decency to be ashamed of themselves.
Sigh.
That said, I can't blame an ungulate for trying.
I've learned over the years that ungulates have no shame.
"Ungulates have no shame" sounds like a great book title! And if either of you two wrote it I'd read it!
LOL at the comments. It IS a good book title. :)
Ahem...are you saying ALL ungulates have no shame?
Love the photo, though. Those particular ungulates are very pretty dashing through the snow. And I agree about the book title!
Thanks for the laugh!
Last year I was not reading your blog sitting barefoot near an open door an hour after sunset!
My ungulates are being fairly invisible lately, but the mud declares their presence.

Dashing through the snow....
I would find that sooooo exciting to see in person. There aren't any deer in our area. They're so beautiful.

The one closest to the hay, is looking at you as though to say... "Do you really want us to go? You know we will just come back don't you?"
