Monday Snorefest

Let's face it, the Bag Lady has been boring lately. She hasn't been blogging much because she hasn't been doing much worth blogging about! She hasn't had anything make her angry enough to rant about (which is too bad - she loves a good rant now and again) and she hasn't won any lotteries, or gone on any fabulous vacations. She hasn't seen anything hysterically funny or even mildly amusing to share with you.

She had a virus or something on the weekend and was feeling poorly enough to spend a day lying on the couch, reading. (That's her excuse and she's sticking to it!) Her computer has been causing her some grief lately - taking forever to load almost every page she wants to look at. Has anyone else been experiencing problems with Google, or is it really just her computer? (Can a computer catch a virus from a human?)

The Rancher went back to work last week and has been working night shift, so the Bag Lady has been spending her days trying to be quiet, and doing her housework in the evenings after he goes to work. She doesn't like the disruption to her routine, but that's the way the mud flops (as the Rancher would so eloquently say).

She has been thinking about decorating for Christmas. She and the Rancher will be going elsewhere for Christmas; and with the Rancher on night shift, they probably won't be doing much in the way of entertaining, so she is thinking lazily seriously about doing a minimum of decorating this year.

The weather has been wintery, but not extreme. There have been some gorgeous sunrises lately, and the Bag Lady has a photo or two, but with her computer behaving the way it's been behaving, she wasn't patient enough to wait for a picture to load in this post. With any luck, the computer will sort itself out soon and she can share a picture with you.

I do a a minimum of decorating each year. A tree and a few simple ornaments does the trick.

There's nothing wrong with minimal decorating, as long as it doesn't bring your spirits down. (Fewer things up mean fewer to put away later!)

I'm afraid it's your computer... or your connection. On the other hand, I haven't had much to say for the past week, either.

Aw! Hope you're feeling better. Frank (yes, my cat) has a cold too. He keeps sneezing these little kitty sneezes which sounds kinda cute, but I'm sure he doesn't enjoy it. Anyway, hope you rested up and recovered.

We don't decorate at all so you win.
I hope you're felling better soon.
Which computer virus program do you have? Maybe a different one would be better.
As for interesting things to blog about a) you're doing fine
b) be very careful what you wish for

Re: blogging...I agree with Leah! Especially "B".

We've got kids and grandkids coming from out of state for Christmas, this year, so I'm decorating for them, mostly. I am going to scale down, however.

I haven't gotten to mine yet with school and all. Soon I hope to put up a few lights...and the cats need a few decorations to mangle :)
I think if you don't mind the lack of decorations don't worry about it...

David - that sounds like a good plan. Less is more, right?

Bookworm - thanks for the good health wishes! I was re-reading some Robert Crais - "The Last Detective".

kcinnova - I did have someone come out to work on the internet connection last week, but wasn't home. I may have to call them and ask if there is something else that needs attention. Sigh.

JavaChick - thanks! I am feeling better today, so I hope it's gone. And I hope Frank feels better, too!

Leah - yes, you do have a point! I don't mind at all that things are going along fairly smoothly right now!

Cheryl - yes, Leah is very wise. And I'm sure your kids and grandkids will enjoy your decorations, scaled down or not!

Geo - of course I will have to decorate a little, for the pets! Our Fuzzy cat loves to sit under the tree and pretend to be a present. Either that, or he's plotting how to attack the birds that I use as decorations....

No decorations here. With 5 cats and 14 foster kittens, anything would be destroyed before it could be put up.

I do hope you feel better quickly.

You have not yet achieved boring. Not even close. As for rants, are you tired of ranting at the computer? It sounds as though it could benefit from a good rant.

After decorating a lot more than usual for the Christmas House Tour last year, I thought I wouldn't do more than a tree and a door decoration, but in an effort to get rid of the lingering smell of dog vomit, I lit a few candles, and I've left them out and lit them every night so far.

If I ever get my painting finished, I will decorate a bit. Otherwise, I will just leave it, I'm not here much over the holidays anyway.

Every year I think I'm going to decorate, and then I don't. My aunt sent me a very nice wreath for my front door, but I haven't even gotten around to hanging it yet. How lame is that?

messymimi - it sounds like that's definitely the best way to go at your house! Unless you hang all the decorations from the ceiling..... :)

Mary Anne in Kentucky - I thought perhaps y'all would be tired of my ranting about the computer. I have contacted my internet provider and he will hopefully be able to fix whatever is wrong. In his words "the new radio receiver should have been an upgrade, not a downgrade!" Umm, yes.

Reb - I hear ya. Hope you get the painting finished soon!

Bunnygirl - I can certainly understand. Of course, now that I'm feeling better, the idea of decorating is much more appealing!
Funny how that works.

I'm not decorating this year at all. Last year I was so sad (on the heels of that annoying breakup) and this year I'm feeling great. I decided not to decorate but I'll still make some cookies, eggnog fudge and listen to my Christmas music.
Hope you feel better today. (whiner!)

I hear you about computer problems, Bag Lady! Sometimes it isn't the computer I'd like to blow up! He! At any rate, I hope your problem gets solved. Seeing as we have the same provider, I hope this doesn't keep happening. He's working on my problem as we speak, and, I'm already seeing good results. The squeaky wheel gets greased, they say!

Janell - I'm feeling much better today, thanks, so no more whining!

Redbush - I called my internet provider and things are much better now!

My mum loves holidays and always went all-out with decorating, food, presents etc when my sister and I were kids. It was SO MUCH FUN at the time, but I think all of the excitement of the holidays got used up when I was younger! Nowadays I much prefer going low-key. I have two "decorations" in my condo for the holidays and that will be that.

It's a good thing my mum has my little twin cousins to get excited for Christmas over... :)

I'm glad you're feeling a little better!

Sagan - my mom used to decorate a lot for us when we were younger, too. And I was a total nutcase about decorating up until a few years ago, but I seem to have passed that phase. I have put my Christmas tablecloth on the table, though!

Normally we don't have a lot of decorations out, but this year? WOAH! All of the decorations are out. I'll have to take pictures and post them or do a video walking through the house. Lol. I love to decorate for Christmas. We aren't having any parties or many visitors, so it's all selfishly decorated for just us :)

Oh and I don't have any exciting things to blog about right now, so I decided to post this month about things that I love about Christmas. :) Blog, we'll read :)

Aleta - congratulations on decorating for yourselves! I am shifting toward doing a little decorating.... one of these days! :)
