Weird Work Week

The Bag Lady went on a bit of a road trip with the Rancher last weekend. He had to move some equipment, and needed her to come along to drive his truck. Without her help, he would have had to move the equipment and walk back for his truck. As it was quite a long distance, he opted for some assistance.

Of course, the Bag Lady took her little camera along and snapped some pictures along the way. The frost on the trees sparkled against the blue sky:

There was a hint of fog visible in places:

The Bag Lady followed the Rancher as he trundled along:

She thought this clump of willows looked pretty, sparkling in the sun.

The weather was actually fairly mild that day, and has stayed quite mild all week. It is even supposed to warm up a little more for the coming weekend, which suits the Bag Lady just fine!
She is looking forward to getting lots done this weekend (It is a long weekend where she lives, which means she doesn't have to work on Monday. Which means she will have had 5 days off in a row by the time she goes back to work. Which means her work week will be the same length as most people's weekend. How weird is that?!)

Those are some beautiful photos, Baggie. I love the 2nd and last ones in particular. The work week sounds pretty good to me.. the weekend even better. Enjoy Family Day. :)

Thanks, Hilary! Hope your Family Day is great, too!

Fine pics, Cousin. I love our winterscapes and you've done well in capturing them.

I've always maintained that Family Day is useless, but if it gets you a day off, then it's a good useless.

Thanks, cousin! I tend to agree with you about Family Day - seems a little silly - but a day off is a day off! *grin*

Monday for us is Presidents' Day -- but it sounds like it is Family Day there in Canada?

I love those frosty-looking trees on your drive. And it's nice to see a reasonable amount of snow... something I have seen TOO MUCH of lately! (My husband worked 2 days this week, because those were the only 2 days he could actually get to work!)

Thanks, Redbush. I love the look of the frosty trees against a blue sky! Hope you enjoy your Family Day, too!

kcinnova - Yes, it's Family Day here in Canada (most places, anyway). I've been spying on your weather - it reminds me of the storms we used to get when I was young! Hope things smarten up for you soon!

Jealous of your five-day "weekend" but not of your snow. Those pics are beautiful, but it all looks so cold!

the Bag Lady said...

BG - it really wasn't all that cold, considering what it COULD be like! :)

Great photos. looks very cold. Which reminds me. I need to go turn up the heater and make myself some popcorn.
Hope you have a great long weekend.

Blue and silver and gold, lovely.

I don't exactly envy you your five day weekend--I just had a weekend in the middle of this week. We were closed for snow Tuesday, and then Wednesday I didn't go--I felt like a wimp for turning around after five miles and going home, until later when I found that the mail on my road had run five hours late....

Thanks, POD! So far, it's been busy!

Mary Anne in Kentucky - sometimes wimping out is the best route!

Beautiful pictures! And I loved looking at them while sitting next to my toasty warm heater :)

Would you believe it's cherry blossom season here? No, I don't believe it either. (Not that I'm arguing with Mother Nature. It's just weird.)

the Bag Lady said...

Cherry blossom season??? Already?? Wow.
It's still winter here..... sigh.

For a minute I thought you were going to celebrate President's Day too, but I read the comments. Astute of me.

I'm so glad to have Monday off. This is a work weekend for me. As are most...

Weren't the opening ceremonies wonderful? I had chills. I know you were dancing out in that crowd.

the Bag Lady said...

Melissa - very astute! Have a great long weekend!

POD - the opening ceremonies were pretty good! I especially liked the totems raising their arms in welcome! Thought that was pretty cool.

Terrific pics, B.L. That was very nice of you to help out the Rancher. So what's Family Day?

I watched the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics and was really proud of Canada. Just an awesome program despite the little glitch at the end. All you Canadians should be just as proud as punch!

Cheryl - Family Day is an excuse for a long weekend in February. :)

I thought the opening ceremonies were pretty good - there were a few things I didn't care for, but on the whole it was good.
One thing I did wonder about was how many of the international audience recognized all the Canadians carrying in the flag at the end....

That last picture of the sun coming through the trees took my breath away! Like, literally. You know when you walk out in the freezing cold and it sucks your breath out of your body? Looking at your beautiful pics reminded me of that. But, you know, in a good way:)

the Bag Lady said...

Thanks, Amy!! :)

Charlotte - I know exactly what you mean.... but it was actually quite mild that day! :)

I don't enjoy living through cold and snow, but it sure can be pretty sometimes. Nice pictures!

Wish we had a long weekend this time of year!

Tehe I had work on Friday morning, and I don't have work again until Wednesday afternoon. And this week is Reading Week so I don't have any classes, either. I like these kinds of breaks!

The pictures are gorgeous. Those kinds of photos make me appreciate the beauty that is Canada, especially when I'm curled up indoors :D I'm such a cold-weather wimp.

the Bag Lady said...

Sagan - those kinds of breaks are great! Mini-vacations.
I hear ya on the weather wimpiness.... I am not a fan of the cold, either!
