Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch

The Rancher has been doing some clearing on the ranch, and took the Bag Lady for a walk on the weekend so she could see what he had done.

It's difficult to grasp the scope of what he's done from these rather poor pictures. It was a cold, cloudy day and there isn't a lot of contrast between the sky and the snowy ground!

This is swampy land at the edge of the existing pasture, but now that it has been cleared it can be sown to grass and give the cows a little more room for grazing.

The Bag Lady has a busy week ahead of her with working, and appointments and meetings, so will likely be scarce around the blogosphere.

maan we hate that you shall be scarce--but not so much if its a week you are looking forward to.

Hope it is and that your sciatica is feeling better?

Carla - some of it is fun stuff.... and some of it is dull. It just all seemed to be packed together this week!

Glad that you have some plums in your cake (see An Old Fashioned Girl).

It's hard for me to tell, not knowing how tall the trees are, how much of an addition that cleared land is, but is it somewhere between ten and twenty acres? I'm not good at estimating area by eye, but I can't stop trying.

I hope you are feeling better these days.
I know busy. I've hardly been out visiting for the past 2 weeks (pre-scheduled posts are the main reason anything new is up at my place).

Mary Anne in Kentucky - I am the absolute worst at estimating area!
I'll try to figure it out.

kcinnova - being busy is a good thing, isn't it? (Well, except for cutting into the blogging time!)

If you're busy it must mean you're feeling better so that's good. The meds must be working. The pics are great, BL, but it ooks mighty COLD up there!

You will be missed but I totally understand:)

On the other hand, every time you post pics of cute lil' baby cows I wish I lived on a farm. And then there are posts like today when I'm glad I don't!

I look forward to reading when you can post, and miss you but understand when you can't.

Isn't it amazing how some weeks will seem comparatively empty, then all of a sudden one occurs where everything is scheduled at once!

I hope the cows appreciate all the Rancher's hard work, too.

I hope you find the cure for the pain you've been enduring.

And you were right about the snow getting in the way of seeing anything but snow. Just looks very cold.

That looks like a lot of area. Have a good week Sis.

You and the rancher have done a lot of good hard work! The cows will appreciate it all when that cleared land grows munchy grass in the spring. Hope your week isn't too hectic and that the fun stuff will be lots of fun! Have a great week!

Thanks, everyone! I went to the massage therapist today and actually got a little more feeling back in my foot.
Then I came home and had to feed cows....... and my back went out on the OTHER side!!
Sigh.

Ooh I like the geometric shapes of the first photo. The trees fading off into the distance like that.

Have a good week and don't work yourself too hard!

Thanks, Sagan!

I can appreciate the amount of hard work he put into that.

Aleta - thanks! Glad someone likes the snow!! :)

David - and more to come, putting in the grass seed and building fence....sometimes it seems as though it never ends.
