Weekend Travels

The Bag Lady had a busy weekend, and it's still busy around the ranch. She and the Rancher had a family reunion dinner to go to, and she took a few photos during the drive.
As they were leaving home, there were river boat races:

She thought this little creek looked interesting:

And even in summer, there are snowsun men!

They saw this little old church along the way - it looked abandoned:

And Saturday was the longest day of the year, so she took this picture on the drive home Saturday night. It was 12:16 am, and there was still light in the northern sky:

She will have a few more pictures to share with you tomorrow!

Your sunman made me smile. :)

It was still rather light out at 9 o'clock last night. Where I grew up, this was not surprising, but here it was a bit of a shock. I think we've had too much rain lately... I had forgotten what a clear sky looked like!

kcinnova - glad my sunman made you smile! Not sure what exactly I was taking a picture of, but the sunman appeared as if by magic! :)

Miz - thanks - You have wonderful gifts, too!

Crabby - the reunion was fun! The Rancher's relatives from Florida are wonderful people, and I think we all had a really good time!

I got a kick out of the sunman.
The creek looked so peacful. So did the church for that matter. And the midnightish pic was wonderful. Thanks, dfBag Lady, for those.

dfLeah - you're welcome - glad you enjoyed them. I'm not often out at midnight, so I was glad it was clear enough to take that picture.

My fave was the pic of the little church - it would make such a great postcard! Or wall art. Anyhow, glad you had a good trip!

Love the pics, as always. Mostly, I love how you notice the little things. Those are the important things.

Charlotte - it was such a cute little church, I couldn't resist. There were a lot of abandoned houses along the way, too - which always makes me sad.

dfTerrie - thanks! I took lots of pictures, but didn't want to post the entire hour and a half trip....:)

Scrumpy - could it be that I notice the small things to avoid looking at the larger picture? :)

Wow - it was so nice to have the light so late this weekend. We were up at the lake and could stay up even later as it just didn't seem like it was time to stop yet with it still being light out. :)

I loev the sunman photo :)

I love the old church and the way the midnight sky still has a little light. Summer in your part of the world comes late but is worth waiting for!

I haven't been anywhere for quite some tome, Bag Lady! It looks like you had a great time. I can't believe it's the longest day of the year already, and my plants have barely started growing! Drat!

Eek, I still can't get over how late it stays light. Too bad you can't bottle some of that sunshine and save it for the winter months; you'd be the richest Canadian if you could do that!

The little church is so cute; I have a "thing" for little country churches : )
