Update

Thank you to all of you who stopped by and left comments for the Bag Lady while she was under the weather! She appreciates all your advice and concern, and it made her feel quite a bit better!

She cannot quite believe how much she slept over the past couple of days, but she had little other choice - she simply could not keep her eyes open.

She is feeling more like herself today, and has a great deal of catching up to do around the ranch. The poor Rancher pretty much had to fend for himself the last couple of days. Ordinarily, the Bag Lady tries to make sure that the only thing he has to do when he comes home is eat and sleep (because that is generally all he ever has time for, considering the long hours he works!)

The Bag Lady doesn't really have a lot to say today, mostly because she is pretty sure you don't really want a blow-by-blow of her activities over the past couple days (sleep, get up, stumble around house moaning about stomach pain, go back to bed.....you get the picture!) and not much else has been happening for her to blog about! Her head is feeling quite a bit clearer today, too, but still seems a little devoid of any real thoughts, beyond checking with all her body parts to see how they are feeling!

She is going to try to eat something today and see how that goes, but only because she knows she should, not because she is feeling hungry yet. And she has quite a lot of housework and laundry to catch up on, so she had better get at it!

Start slowly. I'm sure you're weak. Rest. Fluids. Eat lightly, but yes eat something whether you like it or not. Take care of yourself and get well soon. Don't make me come up there.

dfLeah - I will eat some toast or something, but I'm not ready for my usual cereal with milk (milk upsets my stomach at the best of times!).

And yes, I'm a little weak, but not too bad.

So, if I'm bad you'll come visit? Okay, I'm running around outside without a coat now, and I'm refusing to eat......
When will you get here?

I'm glad that you are feeling a little better today. Take it slow to ensure no relapses :)

no housework woman.

rest and trashy novels.

doctors orders.

simplymoi - thanks! I will probably be forced to take it slow because of the lack of food for a day and a half! I admit, I'm feeling a little weak.

Miz - aye, aye! When the Rancher comes home to the dirty house, I'll refer him to you! :)

Leave the housework for now. Get better and promise "mancakes" when you're up to it.

Do NOT eat Miz' pancakes, ok? LOL, for some reason I'm having a lot of fun with that today...

Is good for the Rancher to occasionally see how much you do for him.

You're running outside? That counts as exercise! Go you!

: )

Dry toast and crackers! Glad you are feeling a bit better today BL

Sending you well thoughts!

A bit of toast or crackers, a spot of tea, a wee taste of applesauce...
Those are the things for a tender tummy (I'm sure you already knew that!) so eat and rest some more. You can always catch up on the laundry tomorrow, right?

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Listen to your cuzzy, and to Dr. Miz. Hope you're feeling better as the day progresses.

Yay...glad you're feeling better. I stand by the whole mint tea and arrowroot cookie thing. Works for me when my stomach feels poorly.

And I agree with Mizfit...trashy novels and rest are what the doctor orders...don't overdo it :)

Tom - Oh yes - the Rancher loves him some mancakes!! :)

Marianne - I promise they won't be Miz's pancakes.....hehehehehe (sorry, Miz, we shouldn't pick on you! But it's just so darned much fun!)

TA - thanks! I shall choke down some toast....eventually.

kcinnova - crackers were all I could stomach last night - had about 3 of them - they tasted really salty, which ordinarily is what I love about them....*shrug*

And I'm really glad you're all advising me not to do any real housework! I shall refer the Rancher to the comment section here when he asks where all his clean clothes are! :)

Okay, if you're doing housework and you're still not feeling 100%, that's incentive for me to do some housework too. (How is it that houses become so cluttered and messy so quick?!). Am glad you're on the mend!

Hilary - I shall try not to over-do things today. Maybe just a wee bit of laundry so the rancher has some clean clothes. :)

Geo - Wish I had some arrowroot cookies - I had to make do with soda crackers. Worked almost as well, but didn't taste as good! (Note to self - stock up on arrowroot cookies in case flu strikes again!)

Sagan - I'm not doing a LOT of housework, you know....just the essentials! :)

Missicat said...

Definitely toast and crackers! And trash magazines and bad TV. You will feel better quite soon! :-)

the Bag Lady said...

Missicat - thanks! I'm hoping I can stay awake in long enough stretches today to actually read something trashy!

Glad you are feeling a bit better BL. Hope you heal up all the way well soon! Being sick stinks.

Glad you're feeling better. Take it easy until you are back to normal though!

Thanks, Lucas! I really hate being sick. It's good to be feeling better.

Javachick - I shall try to take it easy. The hard part will be knowing when I'm actually normal.....:)

Read your comments over at Miz' site so I'm here for a visit. ;>)

So glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. Even when ill you most certainly haven't lost your sense of humor. Wish we could all cheer you up as much as you cheer us!

When the laundry doesn't get done because I'm ill, which doesn't happen often, I like to let my husband know that he CAN wear the same pants again the next day (if they're clean enough, that is).

Easy does it. Glad you're taking care of yourself.

Conny - thanks so much for stopping by - it does cheer me up to have all these nice commenters swinging by!

I'm afraid I was a little hasty about declaring myself better - suffered a bit of a relapse and didn't get the laundry done - darn it all! :) Guess the Rancher will have to make do with a less-than-clean pair of jeans tomorrow!

glad you are feeling better....and remember...

housework can wait, good health cannot so take care of yourself :)

Glad you're feeling better. Keep resting, since it seems to be helping!

I mopped the floor once with a fever of 102. DO NOT imitate me! Take it easy until you're really better, not just starting to be better.

Take it easy Sis! I'm sure the rancher will understand.

Now I feel guilty! Haven't been round for ages and I find you sick and ailing.

As Mizfit said "rest and trashy novels" is what you need. Read my one again - according to one reviewer it was pretty trashy!

Seriously, take it quietly for a few days. You're such a bundle of energy that you wear yourself out. Snuggle up beside the fire with a hot toddy!

the Bag Lady said...

Annette - thanks! Any excuse to put housework on hold works for me!

BG - I was a little hasty in thinking I was better. Ended up sleeping most of the day again.

Mary Anne - mopping the floor with a fever? Sometimes the Rancher asks if I'm sick when I actually DO mop the floor..... :)

Reb - especially if he catches this flu from me....

Dawn - someone called your novel trashy!!? Sheesh! I thought it was wonderful!
Good to *see* you again!

Thanks, Tricia. I was a little hasty in posting about being over my illness - it lingers still...... but I do feel a little better every day.
