Quick Sale Update

The Bag Lady has a few minutes to spare before she goes back to her craft sale, so thought she'd give you a quick update. The sale is being held in the community hall in the little hamlet close to where the Bag Lady lives, which is roughly 25 km (15? miles) from the nearest large city.

The weather was quite nice yesterday afternoon, but it turned nasty and a wee blizzard blew in. There is now a nice, thick layer of fluffy snow on the ground. The Bag Lady is hoping that this will not deter people from town from driving out to our sale! (It certainly deterred them from coming to the sale last night - it was very quiet!)

Here are a couple photos of the Bag Ladys' table:

She hung the wreaths and door swags from the wall behind her - hopefully the tape held overnight and they aren't all going to be lying on the floor when she gets back there this morning!

She had several people comment on how 'professional' her sewing looks, but no-one bought anything....yet.

She is hoping things will go better today.

Your table looks so pretty! Love it. When are you going to explain to us all the history of how Bag Lady got into crafting and became so skilled?

I always liked going to the yearly craft sale that my mums womens group puts on (ever heard of PEO?)- there's always tons of random crafts and LOTS of good baking. Craft sales are fun times.

The whole table looks terrific, and I hope other people are as attracted to those scrubs as I am. They look divine, and with the mitts, they're such a perfect winter treat.

You may have to provide more details for your intra-continental clientele : )

I hope that table is empty now.
("Professional"? You _are_ selling it, right? not giving it away?)

Thanks, all of you, for your supportive comments. Wish you all could have come to the sale....we could have used a Blogbus-load! ~~sigh~~

The Bag Lady did sell a few things, but the shoppers simply did not come. It was a very disappointing turnout.

Anyone who is interested in some sugar or salt scrubs, or soap-saver wash mitts, or holiday greeting cards, CartSmart Bags, casserole carriers, salsa...... the Bag Lady is your "go-to gal!"

Sorry it didn't go great, Baggie. I'll bet there'll be another one or two of them before the holidays.

Not for this chickie.....

I'm sorry the sale didn't turn out as well as you hoped. No doubt it was the weather.

I was kind of amused that it was held indoors. Of course it was, due to the time of year and the fact you're in Canada, but here in the land of near-perpetual summer, we don't generally have such events in our so-called winter. We wait another week until it's summer again and we can hold the event outside.

BG - that's it - I'm going to start spending my winters in Texas. Got a spare bedroom?
Holding craft sales outside would be great!
And actually, the weather today was gorgeous (for this time of year in this location, I mean - you would probably not have thought it was so great.....) It was sunny and the roads were clear.
I really don't know why there was such a meagre turnout. Apathy?

do you think it's the economy?

needed to run to the mall yesterday and it was a ghost town as well.

Miz - I am not really sure. This is an oil-based boom town, but it certainly could be slowing down - I haven't noticed a big difference in numbers of people when I'm shopping, but I don't get to town very often. Don't exactly have my finger on the pulse of the community!

How would a blog gal go about ordering some of those lovely scrubs & mitts? I have my SIL's name this year for Christmas...
