Friday Rambling Round-up

The Bag Lady finally found her Christmas fabric and is well on her way to sewing it into something that she hopes will resemble what she intends it to be. If it works out, she'll post a photo. If it doesn't, she won't, so don't be asking about it!

She's hoping to have lots of time over the weekend to get lots of sewing and crafting done. The Rancher has to go away for work, and probably won't be back until Sunday evening. The Bag Lady will be in charge!! Hahahaha. Boss Baggie. Baggie Boss.......Queen Bag Lady.

As you can probably tell from the inanity so far, the Bag Lady has nothing much to share with you today. Some of the crafts are at the photo-stage, but she thought she would perhaps wait until she has a whole bunch of things done before she takes a picture.

She still hasn't found her salt and pepper shakers, and is beginning to despair. Where could they possibly be? Sheesh. She once lost her mixmaster for 5 or 6 years at least, she said she couldn't find it so couldn't do any baking! Turns out it was right there on the shelf where she put it, hiding in a plastic bag. The Cow Whisperer spotted it with his eagle eye, so the Bag Lady was finally forced to bake a cake. ~~sigh~~ Then the mixmaster mysteriously got broken. (It's hard to break a mixmaster - takes repeated beatings!)

Okay, off to search for shakers again.

Hi Bag Lady! Guess you'd better stop looking for those shakers, they'll only turn up when you least expect. And I'll still be here to see my TA shaker even if you find them in ten years :0)

Dying to see crafts. Sitting patiently. But fidgeting. And bouncing.

I wish I could do crafts! Well, proper ones that require skills like sewing, and not things I can do when I'm drunk like sculpt garden gnomes.

Have a great weekend!

TA x

Oh man, Christmas really is approaching fast :(

And here I was going to use my sewing machine to make things for people. And I can't even use it yet because I watched the DVD and it scared the shit out of me.

:(

I have a good friend who always admonishes me to sit in the dark and visualize where things might be.
she INSISTS it will 'come to me'

(I share all that with the eyerolling caveat that it never works for me :))

and I LOVE when you call him the cow whisperer.

Miz.

I'm Queen of the "lose things in plain sight" phenomenon. The lobster often has to point out to me the "lost" object I'm searching for is right in front of me.

Good luck with those S & P shakers!

df Bag Lady, I have used the visualization to find things. It worked once, but I haven't had any luck since. I keep seeing a denim jacket I put away for safekeeping hanging downstairs. I am so convinced it's there that I look. It's still somewhere safe.
Looking forward to your craft pics.

Hi, TA! I have one more place to look for the shakers and if they aren't there, I'll stop.
And crafts you can do while you are drunk are the very best kind! :)
Hope your weekend is great, too.

Christine - I can relate to being afraid of your sewing machine. When I first bought this one, it sat for almost a whole year because I was scared of it. I still don't use it to it's full capacity (it's got a fancy embroidery feature that scares me to death.)

Miz - I tried the visualization technique. I can see the shakers wrapped in tissue paper....

Crabby - oh, I can relate to that. The lost glasses on top of my head, the car keys lying just under the edge of the paper.....~~sigh~~

dfLeah - The visualization technique has worked for me in the past, but this time, nada.
And that denim jacket probably is safe, wherever it may be!

Mmm cake. I only recently re-found a shirt that I'd loved that's been missing for a few years. Except its made of a silky fabric so now it's all wrinkled and smooshed. Also I had thought I'd lost a sweater for years but just found it the other day... my sister was wearing it! Funny how clothes manage to travel like that.

Have fun being Boss Baggie:) I'm so eager to see your crafts. Maybe you could make new salt and pepper shakers!

Sagan - During this current "shaker quest", I have found several things I had forgotten I owned. It was rather like Christmas! :)

Lol. The only thing I've hidden in our house to make sure it was never 'used' was a pair of BF's pants that were ridiculously ugly. I never had the heart to tell him because he thought the looked good, and throwing them away would be wrong since they didn't belong to me. So I hid them.

the Bag Lady said...

Sarah - I have also used that trick!! Of course, it's quite easy to hide things in this house....:)

I don't lose things, so much as BK moves them. Like my social security card: I use it as a bookmark, he sees this, moves the card somewhere "safe" then replaces it with a piece of paper.

I retaliated by stealing his social security card. Now they're nestled next to our passports, probably where they should have been in the first place.

Tricia - that seems the best place for them. Keeping all the important papers together, preferably in a fire-proof safe, is a great idea.

I actually did go out and get one of those little fireproof safes for my important stuff - passport, birth certificate, insurance info, etc. Unfortunately, everything else I lose. *sigh* oh well!
I want to see crafts! now! :-)

the Bag Lady said...

Missicat - I have one of those, too. Of course, none of the important papers are actually IN it.....

So if you can't find the salt and pepper shakers, does that mean you can stop cooking (at least until they are found?) Because that sounds like a mighty good plan to me.

the Bag Lady said...

Lucas - any excuse will do!! And, actually, with the Rancher away for a few days, that's exactly what I'm going to do - stop cooking! :)

Perhaps the shakers are hiding in plain sight somewhere?

Mmmm... I saw this recipe yesterday and thought of you but with this semi anti-baking post, I'm not sure if you'll like it. Oh hell, I'm going to do it anyway. This recipe is for banana bread baked in glass jars and made me think of you. Great for holiday gifts or even a crafting fair. I baked it as bread yesterday and it is very yummy.

So, like, how much do I have to pay you to come take care of my mixmaster? It's right next to the blender. We could make drinks...

This weekend I am making tombsstones for Halloween. DH says "we" can use his saw. He means I can drink and watch...LOL

the Bag Lady said...

BG - they probably are! I've probably looked at them (well, whatever they are hiding in) and thought "Nah, they wouldn't be in there!"

SB - thanks! I'll check it out right away.

Marianne - I'll bring the sledgehammer....and the mix!

Good luck with the tombstones - I envy you. If I want something like that done around here, I have to do it myself. Hubby won't use anything smaller than a chainsaw. :)

Well, at least you have found things you forgot you had! How much of the found stuff can go to goodwill? Can't wait to see the crafts.

the Bag Lady said...

Reb - probably all of it! But of course, not rigt now.....

I'll hopefully be posting some pictures on Monday of the crafts.

Barrie - so glad someone 'got' that!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
