The Bag Lady was busy in her kitchen most of yesterday, canning tomatoes and salsa. When she finally finished in the late afternoon, she took a stroll around the yard for a much-needed breather. It was a perfect autumn day, warm and peaceful. Here are a few photos she took:
The temperatures are supposed to be very warm for most of the week, so she is going to try to get a little yard work done!

Lovely shots, Baggie. I envy your upcoming warm weather.. our is supposed to be rainy and cold for the rest of the week.
so pretty :)
The birch trees remind me of Manitoba - weren't too many of them in Southern Ontario or Montreal.
A firey riot of colours! Beautiful. Thankyou so much for posting them, it's so grey and drizzly here :0(
TA x
SO PRETTY.
and now Im curious.
define warm?
:)
M.
Thanks, Hi! That's usually the way it works, isn't it? If your weather is good, ours is lousy, and vice versa.
Christine - thanks! Yes, we have mostly birch and poplar trees, while in the east they have more maples, so there's more red there.
TA - sorry to hear it's grey and drizzly. That's what we had last week!
Miz - thanks. By warm, I mean 24C and 25C, which is around 76F and 77F. Normals for this time of year are around 14C, which is 57F. So, not all that warm by your standards. :)
Gorgeous warm pics, dfBag Lady. I wish I lived in the country.
Beautiful!
dfLeah - thanks! Yes, country living is the best!!
SB - thanks!
Looks beautiful...
Are the leaving falling et?
We've suddenly been losing them out her by the bucketful...
Geo - yes, it was quite windy on the weekend, so we lost lots. But some of the trees hadn't turned yet, so it isn't bleak and depressing. Yet.
I am so thankful I live in the country, even if my new house is still not finished and I've put off having a garden for two summers now. I spent a total of 22 years living in cities, longer than I meant to.
Tomato envy. After years of being allergic to them, I only eat them cooked.
Mary Anne in Kentucky, where it rained last night at last.
Damp Mary Anne - woohoo! Rain at last!
I did not like raw tomatoes until I was an adult. I still don't like them in a salad. But home-grown tomatoes in a sandwich? Yum.
And yes, living in the country is the best! I don't think I could stand to move back to the city now.
Beautiful! Our leaves are just changing, need to take a walk and break out the camer...
Oh, yes, Missicat! Take some photos and post them on your blog! Show us how pretty it is there!
Really pretty. There is something so wonderful about going for a nice walk in the fall. Enjoy the nice temperatures!
Sagan - that's so true - the colours of autumn are great.
Wow, it looks like fall! I wish it looked like fall here. Sometime. Anytime. Ever. :-(
Bunnygirl - doesn't it ever look like fall there? (I know it never looks like winter.....)
Let's see. . .canning tomatoes, making salsa, taking pictures of a spectacular yard. . .weren't you supposed to adopt me by now?
The leaves are beautiful! Your pictures show exactly why I love fall so much : )
Amy, I dunno - do you do windows?!
Could sure use some help with housework......
Emily - I know, the colours are so nice. Especially on days when the sky is blue and the air is warm, like today!
You're harvesting and I'm planting! It is early spring and I have 6 tiny tomatoes in the greenhouse. I was only supposed to buy 2 but the variety I wanted (Russian Red) only came in a pack of 6.
I think your "canning" is what we call "bottling" - or does it really go into a can?
I'm hoping that you are going to publish your recipe for homemade spaghetti.
Beautiful shots Sis! I am so glad for the warm week we are supposed to get, I can get my dead plants out and ready the ground for next year...as long as I don't have to kneel.
DAWN!!!!! Hello! How nice to "see" you again!
You can never have too many tomatoes!!
And yes, I'm sure that what you refer to as bottling, we call canning. It goes into a glass jar.
I did post my salsa recipe a little while ago, but my spaghetti sauce just has everything I can find in the cupboard in it! :)
Reb - how IS your knee? I'm on my way outside right now - it's beautiful out there!!
Ooh, pretty! I love that time of day.
Wait, was that... was that Dawn???!!!!
Were you perhaps baking cream-filled apple donuts?
Crabby - I had to lure her out of hiding somehow!!!
And it was such a gorgeous evening, I had to take a picture or two.
gorgeous! Our cooler temps have returned......last week was in the 90s!
new*me - glad to hear it's cooled off for you! It's been gorgeous here for a couple of days!
