Weekend Recap

The Bag Lady has been pretty much out of touch with reality with the rest of the world this weekend. A friend of the family turned 65 this weekend, and two family members also had birthdays in the last few days, so the Bag Lady and the Cowboy hosted a joint birthday party for all three of them.

Saturday was spent in preparation for the party, and the party itself. The Bag Lady took a couple of photos, and a little video, but had the camera set wrong, so everything is blurry and out-of-focus. (Sort of like the Bag Lady was herself by the end of the evening!)

When the Bag Lady got up on Sunday and went outside to check cows, she took a couple of photos of the pasture:

When she got back to the yard, she took another photo, this one of her back yard:

(It looks like a beer can factory suffered a huge explosion, and the fall-out landed here!)

The Bag Lady got that mess cleaned up, then she and the Cowboy did some yard work.

The weather was beautiful yesterday, and is supposed to stay nice for a few days.

She took more photos of her flowers, but is still having trouble with her camera. Sigh.

Here, her crabapple tree is blooming:

Here is a blurry photo of her lily-of-the-valley:

Not all the flowers in her yard are white:

Her little lilac bush is showing some promise this year, so she might have a photo of that later on.

Great pictures. Looks like you're having a lot of fun with your camera. When I looked at the pasture pictures. I thought of "peace" and "quiet". I long for those type of days.
Your flowers are beautiful.

It was odd seeing the beer explosion...I find the more beer I consume the less blurry photos are that I take. I know it should work the other way, but it works for me.

I'm glad you got the opportunity to take some time and relax outside with friends...we spent the weekend in the family yard eating watermelon and watching my nice run around in circles.

I love the lily of the valley. Is it a sun plant or a shade plant? I've wanted to put some in our yard the last few years, but don't know if it would do well in the shade...

By nice I mean neice...I think I need coffee...

Beer factory explosion and beautiful flowers? I'm SO there.

I have buds starting on my Lily of the Valley, but no blooms yet. You are way ahead of me.

Re: the beer cans - guess it was a good factory.

The other weekend when my sister was here and we had the margarita night, I should have taken of picture of the pile of limes we went through and the half empty bottle of tequila that was brand new at the start of the night, but I didn't think about until after the fact...I'd say I will take photos next time except I'm not sure I want to repeat the experience.

A party! I like parties. Looks like yours was a good one!

Maggie - the pasture is really peaceful...at times! I love the early morning time spent out there - the birds singing, frogs croaking, the hum of distant traffic from the highway a mile away.... :)

Geosomin - my lily of the valley is beside my step, facing east, so it gets partial shade in the late afternoon. It is usually over-run by the strawberries and my clematis, so it's pretty tenacious!
And I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend, too!

Crabby - I've got your wine in the cellar........

Javachick - it's just too darned bad the pictures of the actual party turned out so blurry! Must have had the camera set on macro... sigh. Looking forward to pictures of your lily of the valley when it blooms!

Sagan - it was a good party - you'll have to come to the next one!! (this coming weekend when we are tagging and branding and vaccinating...all hands on deck!!!)

If someone was injured, I am sure they didn't feel it! :-) Looks like ya had a great time!

the Bag Lady said...

Missicat - you're right - no-one was feeling any pain...at least, not that night... :)

Lovely pictures Sis. Too bad about the explosion ;) The crabapple is so pretty.

Geosomin, the Lily of the Valley will do best in shade, but it spreads a lot, so if you don't want it taking over the bed, sink a pot to contain it.

df Baglady,

Looks like a great party!

Nothing like family, good friends and a few six-packs!

wow! I don't see how you did yard work after that kinda night...I'm glad to know that you wacky Canadians know how to have a good, ol' fashion Par-tay. Your flowers are so pretty and the field does look peaceful...especially when recovering from a beer explosion!

Sis - I wasn't sure about sun/shade for lily of the valley - I know mine does pretty good where it is....

dfTerrie - that's so true! Does 56 empty beer cans qualify as a couple of 6-packs? I told the Cowboy that we're slipping, 'cause there were so few empties!! :)

Oh, yes, Emily - we know how to tie one on around here!! But this one was actually pretty tame..... :)

Nice pics, Baggie. Your season is still a couple of weeks behind ours, so it's nice to see a prolonged spring.

No beer injuries.. good to know that nobody is.. ale-ing. ;)

Hilary - I knew I could count on you to come up with a good one!!!!!
