That fluffy belly is just waiting to be kissed. She's a beauty.. and relaxed like only a cat can be (which led to the inevitable humiliation - also unique to cats). I love the little black spot on the left side of her little nose.
my parents have 8 outside cats but they are so loved, they are completely tame and spoiled. My dad makes houses out of cardboard boxes on the back deck and it is amazing how they can all snuggle up and sleep so peacefully together. I am going to be out there today, maybe I'll get a pic if the kids don't scare them away ;)
Hilary - Fuzzy is a real cuddler, too. And always wants to be close to me, hence sleeping under the desk. Has a black spot on his lip, too, and inside the mouth.
Annette - oh, I hope you can get a picture! Fuzzy was born to a stray cat that wandered into MIL's place - the mother was quite wild, but Fuzzy adapted to being a housecat very quickly.
Now that's what I call a cat's life! Humans should take a lesson from that in our fast-paced world ! Have you had very much down-time lately, BL? I don't imagine with feeding the cows etc. Great picture! Have a great Sat. evening!
Yep, sometimes they don't seem to have any bones when they sleep. Mine falls off the bookshelf--and onto me since my desk is right beside it. This can be quite startling when I'm in "the zone" writing--or more likely, trying to beat Spider Solitaire just one more time.
Really, that's a belly that calls out for rubbing.
But I'm also loving the gender confusion. When I first read your post, I thought "he?" Aren't cats with both orange and black generally she's?"
Then it appears that several comments went with the assumption that the cat was a girl, ignoring pronoun usage.
I remember my mom telling me about a scientific article probably 40 years ago that explained how rare it was to have boy cats with both orange and black. I've always felt like a smarty-pants for knowing that calico cats with both orange and black in their fur could safely be addressed as "she."
Whoops, just goes to show you! There are always exceptions to any rule.
Crabby - the truth is that Fuzzy is actually an "it". He is a neutered male. And I wasn't aware of the study you mention - guess Fuzzy wasn't, either.... :)
