Tired of Winter

The Bag Lady is tired of winter and decided she would post a cheery picture of the lilies that she grows in her flower garden.

There.

Don't we all feel better now?

(Well she would, except that she just remembered she didn't get around to dividing the bulbs last fall.... crap. Now she feels guilty. So much for cheering herself up. Sigh.)

  2. df Bag lady,

Don't feel so guilty, I don't even know why dividing the bulbs is necessary. I shoould be the guilty one!!

  3. Miz - I take it the weather down there has returned to normal? (other than the odd little Tornado?)

dfTerrie - The bulbs need to be divided occasionally or they get too crowded and either the blooms get smaller or they won't bloom at all. But there's always next fall... right?

dfLeah - glad to be of help!

  4. Beautiful!

Come here for a visit. It's in the 70s F, and I just got done listening to a co-worker whine about it. I felt like saying you can whine about the cold or the heat, but not both!

BG - bitch-slap your co-worker for me, won't you? :) Temps in the 70's sound wonderful!

  7. Yeah...I didn't divide my Iris bulbs either and they so desperately need it. But after the summer we had [or lack thereof] I lot my motivation.

    This year for sure...

    I hope. :)

  11. I'm with Miz and her comment. Just post the GD beautiful photo and don't make crappy comments about yourself. It doesn't matter what you say, we all love you regardless.

Note to self: listen to the Bag Lady and divide bulbs next fall.

  13. If this is the first year that you have forgotten, I'm sure the blooms will forgive you this once.

Thanks for the pretty reminder that flowers are real. Around here, with the uniform drab brown and green landscape and gray sky, I get to wondering if I didn't just imagine all those colors last year.

  14. Awww! Those are lovely!

The weather here is . . . oh, let's just say "rainy" and leave it at that. :P

  16. Want guilt? It's too late to divide bulbs after you've moved. The house where I lived for nine years had lots and lots of iris, more different colors than I've every seen, and Elise told me she hadn't divided them for three years before I bought the place. Every year I said "Next year" until there weren't any more years. The iris were doing just fine, though; so crowded their corms were sticking up out of the soil but just blooming away.

  18. POD - ok.

kcinnova - I need to listen to the Bag Lady, too.... :)

Messymimi - I am really missing the flowers. Sigh.

Marste - did you get that ark built yet?

    Charlotte - Miz nailed it!

Mary Anne in Kentucky - my iris' are the same. I'm not sure I have enough strength to divide them, they are so crowded!

Marianne - you really are NOT a gardener, are you? :)

  20. We left snowy and cold New Mexico for snowy and cold Texas for not snowy but still cold Louisiana. The temps have finally come back up into the 60s and I am sooooo glad! Winter is my least favorite time of the year!

  21. Gena - winter is MY least favourite time of the year, too, which is kinda silly of me - winter is also the LONGEST time of year around these parts!! Sigh.
Glad things are warming up for you down there!
