We still have a couple Herefords, but we also have some Simmental (we are also trying to get rid of them because of their attitude!), some Salers, Angus, and Charolais. We have been using a Gelvbieh bull for the last couple of years, but in the past we have also had a Hereford bull, and a Salers bull.

I do know what you mean about the Charolais being dumb! When we bought the Charolais cows, they were all bred to a Charolais bull. BIG calves, but sheesh, we had to help most of them find out where to get that first drink! The Salers and Gelvbieh are much better about jumping up and finding that milk spout!

(OMG, I've done it again - written a novel in answer to a simple question...)the Bag Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17434610508260994331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329622951839766826.post-16558909206973436122008-03-08T19:17:00.000-07:002008-03-08T19:17:00.000-07:00I meant to ask what breed your cows are? I looked after a lot of Charolais crossbred calves one season and they were the dumbest calves I've ever come across. Big, gorgeous and stupid!Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15643174590692205316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8329622951839766826.post-65515537925020056342008-03-07T12:53:00.000-07:002008-03-07T12:53:00.000-07:00Reb - yes she is.
