Ode to Old

Fifty three:

the odd pain in the knee
....
constantly feeling the need to pee
(especially when I laugh or sneeze!)
......
but I can clearly see
---
the alternative, I'd rather not be.

So, okay, the Bag Lady is not much of a poet, but she did survive another birthday.

Edited to add: Thanks, Hilary, for this:

Glad my terrible poetry made you smile!

  2. You're only as old as you feel! I'm 36 but we replaced mattresses yesterday at the hotel I work for, 110 beds total! I feel really old today! :) But come Christmas morning I'm going to be 10 again! :)

    Happy Birthday!

  11. Well done you old bag! :)
Each of those pains has been earned, just like the wrinkles, um, laugh lines!

  12. I could have written that and I'm a few weeks shy of 45.
Let's just pretend we are young, hearty and hale, shall we?

  13. Charlotte - I hate to break it to you - it just gets worse as you get older! :)

Reb - Yes, I've earned them all (and a few that I didn't really have to work all that hard for!)

kcinnova - I'm all for the pretending! Might even convince myself, for a little while, at least!

  17. You are only as old
    As you want to be
    Act sixteen if you want
And it may make you feel seventy.

Happy Birthday with a poem, boy are you ever young!
